I got to spend time at the beautiful Bamber Valley this morning where Principal Martine Haglund led and modeled restorative practices. It was a soft landing and welcome start to a great day. ā¤ļø

A former @RPS535 student penned this article. Amina is in her freshman year at the U of M. She's a remarkable soul. https://t.co/0Z7Wi1DHkV

Love that @Channel1FoodMN is doing place-based outreach! Collaborating to connect basic human needs builds stronger relationships & healthier children. This Mobile Market happened during a highly attended family event at #OverlandOwls. Such impressive teamwork! š„

"What people regret most, they value most." Across the globe, people regret inaction; professional, relational, situational...moving forward, research says, take the chance...

This is really a highlight. It demonstrates a few of the many things I love about kids and schools and people who love them. Keep 'em coming! Also, my 1st grader would not order Fettuccini Alfredo at a restaurant because he feared it wasn't as good as school lunch. FR.
What do Rochester students know about Rochester Public Schools? The superintendent visited our high schools to find out. Watch our video, Supt In the Halls, to see what he learned. Some answers might surprise you! Watch the video here:

Listen to this powerful example of one way @RPS535 is working to build & develop partnerships that address key barriers to postsecondary & career access w/ support from committed partners like Rochester Police Department & others. Click ā¶ļø You'll be so glad you did.
A while back, @RPS535 found that nearly 1/3 of its students drove without a license. Problems can snowball if they're caught. So the #rochmn district brought driver's ed to school - and some students are learning from the best drivers on the road. https://t.co/REbjlTK22K

Belonging, connections & bridging social capital impact nearly every aspect of a community; academic performance, health outcomes, lower crime rates, upward mobility & better overall health of a community. Proud that @RPS535 is on it w/ the work of our Strategic Action Plan.
There is a 100% chance that this graph is a core reason for America's surge of anxiety and depression. Time spent with other people has plummetedāfor every age group, ethnicity, gender, geography, and income level. https://t.co/trjGX8kYKo

At the height of a global pandemic, when we were looking for innovative ways to provide access to healthcare, Jan Malcolm responded to my email -- with actual strategies. Dedicated, caring, hardworking was what I saw from this incredible public servant.
š§µJust got off the horn with @mnhealth Commissioner Jan Malcolm, who announced her retirement today. (You can hear our extended interview tomorrow). She said that one of her biggest challenges in stopping COVID-19 was its politicization because it made decisions harder.
