Burned out 2x while in the corporate world. Now I work on my own terms and help other devs do the same.

What do people who only vibe code do, when an issue appears and AI can't solve it?

Does it make sense to make SEO for a local shop? Someone that sells like meat, or fruits, or something along those lines?

The same way the best React developers know how the web works, HTML/CSS standards, and have a deep understanding of what goes behind the hood - the best software developers will continue to be the ones with deeper understanding of software engineering, period. AI or no AI.

My biggest worries about coding with AI: 1. Beginners not actually learning 2. Atrophy of skills I’m seeing #1 happen and I don’t have a good answer yet. Leveling up as an engineer requires grinding and it’s not always fun. If AI can solve most of the problems for you, when

The difficulty we see in people getting IT jobs is because the market is saturated or the talent is poor?

I'm in the same position, but on the opposite spectrum - I'm pretty confident I'm my software engineering abilities, I can build stuff from the ground up, with deployment, etc, but haven't found a way to market myself in order to have a consistent flow of clients.

I'm approaching 30. I can't play around anymore. I started creating content 8.5 years ago. The goal was to document my learnings. It forced me to research things, think harder and therefore get a better understanding of the subject. A secondary goal was to document my

Semrush is being acquired by @Adobe! While we have our sights on big changes in the future, nothing changes in the near-term – you can expect the same @Semrush experience as well as improvements as we join forces with Adobe. https://t.co/GXKFR1PX8v

Hot take: 90% of indie apps are actually not needed because they bring zero value to people.

Dad developers. How can you even work at home when you have a kid and a pregnant wife who are always interrupting you? Yes, I have my own office. But it seems like they are mistaking it for a hallway or something.

Stepped away for a bit from here because everything seems perfect, everyone is building the next million dollar app. Came back and it's still the same, with tons of drama alongside. Not sure this is the bubble I want to spend my digital time in...

We hit $28.5M ARR in 3 months with our mobile app. Me and @sebxturner launched this app in June, and grew it purely through organic TikToks. I’ll explain how we did it🧵

Very good topic with lots of interesting answers throughout these posts. While I'm not big on tests, I think they're useful and have a place to exist. That being said, I'm working on a big application with tons of permissions and some tests would greatly improve regression.

TDD doesn't work for UIs, period. UI needs to be optimized for flexibility and ease of change Therefore having any real logic in components, and needing to testing is a losing strategy The best thing to do is to move ALL logic to headless part of the implementation, eg

New junior developers can't actually code. Fantastic blog where the author argues that AI is preventing devs from understanding anything Unlike the internet which only replaced fact lookups but adds explanations, AI replaces all reasoning.
