Great day; great kids. Just a wonderful way to end the semester. Absolutely extraordinary work by these kids, the level of which far surpasses the expectations of any grade 11 Canadian law class. I am running out of superlatives to describe Bloor students year after year!

2025 Blue Jays may not be immortalized with a trophy, but they will be legends forever. An incredible team that met the moment over and over again, taking a country along with them. Can only say thanks, for all of it.

It’s a privilege to have the mental capacity/leisure time to follow & care about a sport. It’s nice to have some collective experiences, shared with millions of people. But I feel bad for these guys on the team - some of them kids, really - this will follow them around forever.

Thirty two schools from across the Toronto region competed in the 2025 OBA-OJEN Competitive Mock Trials. Students brought their A game and amazed all the judges!

The volunteer judges were so generous with their time and feedback, our lawyer coaches were awesome, and it was just a great way to put an exclamation mark on a year of learning about the law. Can’t believe it’s already been 8 years of doing these!

In our case, we had a brand new group try this for the first time, and even one student has had been on the periphery of every team, watching, since grade 9 and finally taking the plunge in their final year!

WOW. A teacher just told me, "I gave one of my 2nd grade (dyslexic) students your nature poetry prompt. He is reluctant to write because of challenges with spelling, but I suspect he’s gifted. I told him just to write and we’d sort out the spelling later. This is what he wrote."

Harriette Mackenzie is such a rare athlete: she’s a BC college basketball star, and she is trans. This is the story of her season: an in-game attack, anti-trans hatred, outing herself, a lifetime of trauma, and how she kept going, despite it all.

Trans athlete Harriette Mackenzie has been ostracized most of her life. One violent play during a Pac West basketball game pushed her to fight back.
