On Wayne Rooney’s birthday, a reminder of Kevin Campbell’s first impression of playing alongside him for Everton reserves. What a great storyteller. Well worth revisiting in the @UndrTheCosh archives.

@postoctobrist Woman goes to Jezza. Says she's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says she feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Jezza says, 'Solution is simple. Quit existing party affiliation, Join Your Party.' Woman bursts into tears-

Of all the deeply awful things about Nigel Farage, him being a _professional_ gobshite instead of a mere amateur is probably the least surprising and objectionable.
EXCL: Nigel Farage is using a private company to reduce his tax bill on his GB News media appearances and other outside employment 👇🏼

Thinking back to this Stewart Lee bit, Starmer is essentially the Richard Hammond to Farage's Jeremy Clarkson.

If the GoF had just put Monads in the Design Patterns book and called them something dull like Function Decorators, we could have saved decades of snark and angst.

Saw this announced today and immediately wondered what the worst book to turn into a Choose Your Own Adventure would be. My brother correctly suggested Lolita. Then I noticed there was an option to make it cyberpunk. I can only guess what milestone 3 is. 😬 https://t.co/9I9OlnWD43

She should have been allowed to do her little speech, and then been subjected to ten minutes of grilling about the bits of the union flag her dress got wrong.

Missed that it was 5 years since Garry passed. Given recent events, perhaps we'd have all fallen out by now (he was a rare breed: a staunchly Zionist Zen Buddhist), but I've always liked this photo of him taking time out at the pub after an Opta Pro Forum to share his knowledge.
Just to inform everyone who reads this feed that Garry Gelade passed away on 5th July at 14.25 UK Time. If anyone wants to know about it, please call on +44 2072896305.

I have a sort of part-time, quasi-religious belief that this is one of the cleverer optimisations the universe uses, as a side effect of consciousness. Also the reason we'll never meet aliens - snapping together two complicated timelines like that would be too expensive.

Crematorium had a crucifix which they just turn backwards for the denominations that don't like dead Jesus. This was hilarious to me, the inappropriate hilarity finder.
