We should follow New Hampshire's lead on fiscal policy... cut spending AND cut taxes to increase prosperity and flourishing!
New Hampshire has a similar population to Maine. But we spend 30% MORE per person on state government, with little difference in services. The question isn't whether we can afford to spend less... It's whether Augusta is willing to.

Long story short: Augusta should not get any more of our money. K-12 spending is the highest ever, and we don't have much to show for it. Maine is already the top-5 highest tax burden in the NATION (behind CA, HI, NY, IL) 🤯

The thing is, the folks they want to tax the most have the easiest time avoiding new taxes. What happens next? They inevitably broaden the tax to include those who can't escape it - the middle class.
