International Women’s Day is difficult for me - five years ago on this day I was attacked & escaped an abusive relationship. I feel a huge duty and pressure to do something & so I was incredibly grateful and moved to be able to say these words on air.
Thank you for watching 🩷
What disappointing, lazy, misogynistic, and reductive writing. Piss poor. God forbid women watch F1 because they actually like the sport…
Thank you for calling this out
@FemalesinMSport
1086 F1 races. The
#SpanishGP
would be Alonso’s 362nd start. That is exactly one third (33.3%) of all races. It is the 33rd race at this circuit. He has garage & pit box no 33. He is going for his 33rd win, 10 years since his last. And he’s on home soil. Have the stars aligned?!
What a weekend. I can’t quite comprehend how Sainz went from surgery to

winner in two weeks - leading home a 1-2 for Ferrari. One hell of a fairytale. A total joy to bring you all the action in glorious Melbourne. Thank you so much to the F1TV crew and to all who joined us
My friends and I haven’t stopped thinking or talking about Sarah Everard since she went missing. I cannot imagine the torture her family and friends are going through. Women should be able to walk home without fearing for their safety

My first full season of
@F1
and what an extraordinary experience it was. It has been an utter privilege. Both drivers fought ferociously - both deserved to win, one sadly had to lose. Thanks to all in the paddock & at F1 for an unforgettable 2021, and to all of you for watching!

Pidcock broke his collarbone after being hit by a car at the start of June. Had surgery, got back in training in six days. Now he’s won Olympic gold with that almighty ride.

Just got out for a run. In choosing my route, I thought “don’t go through a park”, and remembered Ashling Murphy and Sabina Nessa. “Main roads are best”. And then I remembered Sarah Everard. Maybe I should have gone to a gym? Then I thought of Molly McLaren. What else can we do?
@MattyWTF1
Matt, that really wasn’t the impression on stage. It seemed positive from what I could hear. The support particularly for Checo was huge. Just reflecting on my own experience…

I’m so angry, so sad, and so deeply sorry for Sarah’s family & friends. I cannot stop thinking about her. The outpouring of rage and sorrow from women this week who are so sick and tired of being afraid, being blamed and not being believed has been overwhelming. My heart hurts 💔

Wishing Sainz all best wishes and a speedy recovery, this news makes his efforts in practice yesterday all the more remarkable.
And so an 18 year old makes his F1 debut in a Ferrari. The best of luck to Ollie Bearman. A lovely lad who has been excelling in F2, and rapid here.
Carlos Sainz has been diagnosed with appendicitis and will require surgery.
As from FP3 and for the rest of this weekend, he will be replaced by reserve driver Oliver Bearman. Oliver will therefore take no further part in this round of the F2 Championship.
The Ferrari family…
He was nicknamed The Rapist as he made female colleagues feel uncomfortable. He was reported for driving naked from the waist down. He was accused of indecent exposure again - it wasn’t properly investigated days before Sarah was killed. This is systemic failure to protect women.
In yesterday’s ride, a man in a white van told me he should have killed me as he dangerously overtook and called me a slag as he sped off. So, not quite a “golden age” yet
Let’s please remember these are young men, human beings, who have united us, given us a summer to remember, and will feel this defeat more acutely and personally than we will ever know. This moment will live with them forever. Be kind, always.

The thing with stats and records in F1 is there’s always nuance and counterpoints. So the Red Bull record 12 wins in a row might or might not be a record depending on how you look at it and history. 🧵

A very personal reflection on 2019. I’ve written this hundreds of times in my head, but finally able to press send now.
On 8th March - International Women’s Day no less- I became a victim of domestic abuse.
One of the best races I’ve ever seen. The women raced their hearts out. Give them the platform - live TV and a truly challenging, decisive, testing course and look what happens. Chapeau to the peloton for showcasing exactly WHY we should be watching women’s cycling
#LaCourse
Montreal is wet. Very wet. And consistent rain forecast all day. Aftee interrupted running yesterday, it’s tricky to know how the teams stack up, although looks like Red Bull still quickest. We could be in for an exciting Quali and mixed up grid tomorrow…

The Weekend So Far at the Miami GP…
Having the time of our lives on F1TV this week. Thanks to all for watching. Today’s the big one! We could be in for a wild ride…
#MiamiGP
A relentless and frantic day of action. Really enjoyed it. Perez takes the win in today’s sprint race while a Ferrari P2 is a huge step for Leclerc after a tough start. Verstappen P3 after a good old tussle with Russell. Shall we do it again tomorrow?
#AzerbaijanGP
Really enjoyed that. A driving masterclass on the most challenging circuit in tricky conditions, the strategical jeopardy, a worthy podium, & the beautiful chaos that is race day in Monaco.
Oh, and Fred Vasseur said I look like a flamingo, so there’s that. Thanks for watching!
Excited to be presenting

Day three of testing…
Grabbed a chat with Fred Vasseur on his way to the garage this morning, asked him where he would place Ferrari in the pecking order.
He said “Top 10 for sure”.

Plenty of questions - what does this say about Mercedes’ W15 as Hamilton activates a release option in his contract? Who replaces Hamilton at Mercedes? Is Sainz headed for Sauber/ Audi? How will Ferrari manage the dynamic and ambition of Leclerc and Hamilton? Fascinating !
What a Qualifying session… seven different teams in the top 10 & at one point just one tenth separating the top four. Mega. And just thrilled to have

Fourth ascent of Mont Ventoux with mum. After the year we’ve had, it’s just a privilege to be on holiday with my family, riding my bike in the sunshine.

Big day done. Track run done. One of the best qualifying sessions ever? It was thrilling beyond measure on a track where every millimetre matters and every thousandth of a second counts. Majestic from Verstappen, “animalistic” from Alonso. A true privilege today

I appreciate the point but if we don’t call this nonsense out, it keeps happening. It’s especially damaging if it comes from an accredited F1 journalist - it’s not a culture or attitude welcome or accepted in the paddock anymore
We had all the ingredients for a potentially spicy race and while the race didn’t quite deliver on that, there was a fair bit of intrigue to keep us entertained. Congratulations

Really, really enjoyed that race. The thrilling Ferrari fight for P3, Albon’s defence, Perez’s surge to P2 and ultimately, yes, a Red Bull 1-2 but one in which we have seen something never been done before. History made today. Congratulations to Max Verstappen.
