Only five drivers have scored more wins than Daniel Ricciardo in the last decade.
Hamilton
Vettel
Verstappen
Rosberg
Bottas
Arguably none of his eight wins were achieved with the fastest car on the day. It's a brutal game sometimes.
When
@OscarPiastri
won the F2 title last year I was a bit frustrated he didn't have a drive so shouted on the commentary "F1 sign him up" I didn't mean *every* team.
So that’s now da Costa, Kvyat, Gasly and Albon careers handled pretty weirdly, then Sainz and Ricciardo choosing escape over race winning cars.
Not sure it’s a driver problem...
Really hope
@alex_albon
gets a 2022 drive, he deserves a second chance.
Sitting in a bar, Hungarian TV highlights of the race playing - it's lap 38, all looking good for Leclerc can't see anything absolutely inexplicable stopping him.
The thing about Sebastian Vettel's retirement is that you really could see him doing almost anything next. Team management, commentary/punditry, politics. All would fit. What a great F1 career he's had.
🚨News🚨I’m really excited to continue as
@FIA_F2
and
@FIAFormula3
commentator for FOM! It means a lot to hold the microphone for these two incredible championships.
What a warrior
@JMCorrea__
is. Three years ago he dragged himself clear of his car with horrific injuries. For him to even compete again is incredible, to stand on the podium on a Grand Prix weekend... it's a sporting comeback for the ages.
I’m delighted to join Channel 4’s F1 team. The chance to commentate on Formula 1 for British TV is beyond exciting and I can’t wait to get started in March 2021.
🎙️Announcing today that Alex Jacques will be our new lead commentator from the start of the 2021 season. Welcome to the team
@AlexJacquesF1
!! Great to have you on board👍

The list of motor racing knights is pretty special...
Sir Henry Segrave
Sir Malcolm Campbell
Sir Jack Brabham
Sir Frank Williams
Sir Stirling Moss
Sir Jackie Stewart
Sir Patrick Head
Sir Lewis Hamilton
Important that Alonso got his P7 back but there was absolute gold from him yesterday when talking about appeals.
"...if 20 minutes too late is okay to protest, is one month too late? Is one hour too late? Is 10 years too late? When is too late?"
The man doesn't forgive 😂
I've had seven amazing seasons holding the microphone for GP3 and FIA Formula 3 but the time has come to step back and let others call the races.
I’m very grateful to have covered such a historic and important championship.
Thanks for having me
@FIAFormula3
Catalunya: good strategic contest
Paul Ricard: decided on the penultimate lap
Sochi: weather twist and a landmark moment
When the typically sleepy races are enthralling. You know you're in a special season.

The Super League mess highlights what a great job F1 did, with many teams voting against their own interests to create a plan which safe guarded things for the years ahead.
Let's hope football copies F1's homework in the coming days.

Very pleased to see Danny Ric back on the grid but it really is another classic of the Toro Rosso/Alpha Tauri second seat genre.
De Vries sacked 10 races in
Lawson passed over having been with the academy since he was 17
New driver is 34 and left the team a decade ago.😂
That’s a sixth season of commentating F1 in the books!
Huge fun to return to F1TV to finish what we started in 2015 with GP2 and then the PLC.
Wonderful days along the way - a massive thanks to all involved.
Today you’re going to affectionately hear about Murray Walker’s ‘mistakes’ but it’s so important to underline his greatness, no one has ever matched this level of detail and emotion and no one ever will. The 🐐
Motorsport is a simple thing. Drivers travel the world to race at different circuits and in the end, Mercedes win.
Huge congratulations to

Pleased to say I've signed up for a tenth season of Formula 2 commentary and sixth season of laughing at
@AlexBrundle
's one liners.
It’s the most anticipated Formula 2 campaign in years and the whole team can't wait to get started.
It was an enormous privilege to commentate on the British Grand Prix live.
To be completely honest I've been dreaming since my school days about holding the mic for this race - so to broadcast for
@Channel4
was beyond special.
Cheers to all at

BREAKING: Sebastian Vettel has been disqualified from the
#HungarianGP
, losing his second place
Stewards were unable to take the required amount of fuel for sampling following the race
Last year we opened our Monza F1 TV broadcast paying tribute to Frank Williams and the Williams family owned era.
People talk a lot about legacy but what they achieved was incredible.
This clip belongs to FOM
I haven't been late for work for six years... but we've been stuck in Monaco traffic for well over an hour and still we're nowhere near the circuit. 🤦♂️ Good luck
@AlexBrundle
😬
The PLC has been a brilliant mix of talented engineers, producers and directors always going above and beyond.
This was how we covered the last lap of 2019. It gives you an idea of how much fun it's been to be a part of. I’ll miss the team massively.
Unsung hero of F1 broadcasts Brad Joyce talking to Lance was team radio gold.
It consistently had 'Step dad rethinking his life choices' energy. The sighing, the weariness, the arguments over which button did what. Will be missed.
Meet Ben Michell, a new voice on the
#F1
team radio airwaves. 🎙️
With Brad Joyce having been promoted to Head of Trackside Engineering, Ben has made the step up from Senior Performance Engineer to become
@lance_stroll
’s Race Engineer.
Another new step in our team evolution.
I’m genuinely so pleased to be commentating on both F1 and F2 for F1 22.
To be a part of a Codemasters & EA Sports
@Formula1game
is just ridiculously cool for a kid that grew up in the 90's.
Good luck to the team with the upcoming
#F122Game
launch.
Huge news with implications for F1 and F2.
Carlos Sainz has been diagnosed with appendicitis and will require surgery.
He will be replaced by reserve driver Oliver Bearman. Oli had taken pole for the feature race last night.
Wow. Incredible Canal Plus animation of
@RGrosjean
's accident. Most accurate I've seen to date.
Have collected the animation clips into one video here (footage was placed amongst interview footage in the documentary).

1. This amount of reform implies a collective failure beyond one man. Even if his position was untenable.
2. If the new structure needs clear tweaks e.g. two Race Directors leads to inconsistency. Then make changes immediately, mid-season.
3. The Ferrari looks outrageous.
We are filled with the most immense and deep sadness at the passing of Sir Frank Williams
His was a life driven by passion for motorsport; his legacy is immeasurable, and will be forever part of F1
To know him was an inspiration and privilege
He will be deeply, deeply missed
With all sessions of the British GP live on Channel 4. I'm stepping back from F2 commentary for a weekend.
As she's already announced - the brilliant
@rosannatennant
will be subbing as lead commentator, so F2 is in very safe hands.
I'll be back for the rest of the F2&F3 season
And the night shifts are done.
I'm really pleased the commentary is being carried on both F1TV and C4 this season.
It's been special to return to F1TV continuing the work we started in 2015.
Equally it means a lot to continue with Channel 4, Whisper and the award winning team.
It’s fantastic to be nominated for 'Sports Commentator of the year' alongside
@robyniocowen
and
@RichardHoiles
at the Broadcast Sport Awards.
Also great to see so many
@C4Sport
and
@WeAreWhisperTV
colleagues recognised for their superb work across the last year.
A final thank you in 2022 to the incredible people I've shared commentary boxes with and to the army of folks behind the scenes who bring you TV for the best sport on earth.
It really means a lot to hold the mic for C4F1, F2, W Series and F1 Esports. Have a great winter break!
It just doesn't get better than doing the British Grand Prix weekend live on Channel 4! Thanks to all of the brilliant co-commentators and the amazing team at
@C4Sport
&
@WeAreWhisperTV
Having spent most of Sunday scrolling through - can’t help but feel the rulebook needs a total overhaul.
Too much of it is written in vague 'legalease' and obviously these things never get reviewed until a day like yesterday.
Let’s hope someone’s looking at this for 2022.
What a fantastic
@FIA_F2
finale🤯
Forgot to say the
@FIA_F2
and
@FIAFormula3
prize giving begins at 17:45 local time. It’s live on their Facebook and Youtube.
Congratulations to champion
@SchumacherMick
and well done to
@callum_ilott
for taking it to a decider.
I saw the Ricciardo video straight after reading this quote below from Olympic champion Adam Peaty.
It highlights the demands on elite athletes/teams even before you factor in the pandemic and it's a reminder there's a real person at the centre of every sport story we debate.
@AlexBrundle
“And the F2 Feature Race is underway.”
@AlexJacquesF1
“That’s MY line!” 😂
Well done both of you for keeping us all entertained not only throughout the weekend, but also during the delayed start to the Feature Race, & the red flag stoppage. Glad the drivers are OK!
