Happy to share this #cover I created for @ChristianReece (@Harvard) ! The paper, published in @angew_chem, shows that an highly active metastable surface state is created when CO is adsorbed and then selectively desorbed from well-coordinated sites in 2nm Pt #nanoparticles.

Back then, 4 years ago, the only “design” software I could use was power point and a little bit of photoshop. I spent weeks trying to craft the illustration. A bit of a nightmare. Nevertheless, a good memory. A reminder of how everything started and the path I’ve taken since then.

A more personal #funfact: Energy&Environmental Science is always a little special to me as this is the journal where I published my first cover for my first ever first author paper during my PhD at @HZBde (if you are curious, here the link: .

Proud to give visibility to research on sustainable energy! 🌱⚡ I designed this #cover for a study by @VivoPaola, @MRosarioVidal et al. on pnictogen-based #perovskite-inspired materials for #IndoorPhotovoltaics, showing their lower impact vs. lithium batteries & standard tech!

A good illustration requires time and effort. But when figures are thoughtfully designed, they don’t just represent data/processes/concepts, they become a bridge between complex ideas and the audience, providing incredible help in achieving effective #ScienceCommunication.

➡️#Aesthetics: Adding icons and choosing colors, typography, and layout to make the figure more intuitive and visually appealing. ➡️#Readability: Ensuring all elements were clear and legible, even for color-blind viewers or when presented in black and white.
