A great article showcasing @SwRI's ENABLE markerless motion capture technology. The team was able to optimize, in silico, pitching mechanics to maintain pitch velocity yet reduce injury risk. Big implications for sports, military training, and healthcare!.

Improving the accuracy will always be the primary focus, but we've also spent a great deal of time improving the automation of the analysis, as well as the seamless integration/usability of the system output to OpenSim. #digitaltwin #humanperformance #basketball.

Not only does this allow us to model highly nonlinear viscoelastic materials, but we can determine damage parameters from experimental tests of viscoelastic materials when it's difficult to distinguish between viscoelasticity and damage.
