I don’t give a fuck about “body count.” All I wanna know is “mind count,” how many different thinkers have you exchanged ideas with. How “ran through” are you are you by philosophers and poets?

Canada is cutting social spending and trampling over Indigenous rights to benefit resource extraction companies while dealing with the worst wealth inequality in its history. The US is transferring as much wealth as possible to billionaires while going fascist. Meanwhile Mexico
Claudia Sheinbaum says Mexico's "neoliberal period" is over, announcing a slew of new public works. Continuing AMLO's Fourth Transformation, Mexico is building passenger rail, highways, airports, 200K+ affordable homes, and more. https://t.co/foc31QwY5z

The NDP should ABSOLUTELY run on letting people work from home. Both the federal and provincial wings. Ordering people back to work when it serves no purpose is just plain stupid

Is it Groundhog Day?
Just in: Saskatchewan's finances have reversed dramatically, as the province now projects a major deficit. The province says it's forecasting a $349-million deficit this year, down from the original $12-million surplus it had budgeted in the spring. #skpoli

If your city has homelessness, it needs more homes, not more cops.

Air Canada flight attendants work an average of 35 hours a month that Air Canada refuses to pay them for.
To address ongoing labour uncertainty following strike notice by CUPE, Air Canada’s flight attendant union, a lock out notice was issued to CUPE today, effective Aug. 16. We will begin implementing our contingency plan to gradually begin an orderly wind down of operations.

Nationalizing the airlines should be a slam dunk with the public. It's expensive, the experience is miserable even if it goes off without a hitch, it never goes off without a hitch, it's impossible to get compensated when the airlines screw you over. Vile experience top to bottom

Remember this: the workers didn't strike, the company locked them out because they would rather close than treat workers fairly

Are we going to use the Chappell Roan hype to spotlight the skps hostile view of queer and trans folks or are we just hoping for an autograph?

It is high time that Communists should openly, in the face of the whole world, publish their views, their aims, their tendencies, and meet this nursery tale of the Spectre of Communism with a manifesto of the party itself.

"Cultural districts" in towns are interesting because their existence implies that "culture" (not unlike nature) is something separate and apart from the purpose of the city, which is to facilitate the exchange of capital and labour.

Vancouver reminds me that an underrated reason it's difficult to radicalize Reginans is that the contradictions & inequalities of capitalism are just more subtle there. If you're having a bad time in Regina it doesn't piss you off so much bc everyone else is having a bad time too
