Watching a film in the Luxe screen at @amb_cinemas (Hyderabad) is like watching a film on your iPhone without headphones. Small screen, but the sound is terrible (stereo even though they say Atmos). Avoid like the plague. Consider this a PSA so others don’t screw up their outing.

The US has always been the best place to buy stuff. With the free economy all these years, Americans always got the best prices, domestic or imports. E.g. iPhone, Merc, BMW, Samsung/Sony TVs… you name it. Not gonna be the case any more if this continues. (7)

But this doesn’t always work and not in every case. Only in situations where the imported product can be made easily by the domestic industry. Most times, it’s simply not possible. You’re stuck with either an expensive import or a low-quality domestic product. (6)

Sure, there are benefits in the long run (focus on long) because people are discouraged from buying foreign items and tend towards domestic items. This is the reason the gov applies tariffs anyway, to protect domestic industry… (5)

See, the gov makes the $3 as per plan. But paid by the consumer. It is simply a consumer tax, not unlike a sales tax. (4)

E.g. A foreign company makes an item for $10, sells to a US company for $15, and final price for consumer is say $20. When a tariff of 30% ($3) is added, the foreign company’s cost becomes $13, will simply sell it to the US company for $18, who will charge the consumer $23. (3)

Does the government make money from tariffs? Yes. Who pays? The consumer. Exactly like income tax. Just like income tax is a tax on the earning person, tariff is simply a tax on the consumer. (2)

I see too many Americans sitting and calculating the money their government is gonna make from tariffs — from Canada and Mexico! 😳 Take it from an Indian, we know how tariffs work 😊 because a lot of our imports are tariffed. (1)

That theme tune that repeatedly plays on loop on @IndiGo6E flights is the most annoying ever! Not that it’s particularly bad or anything, but no human should be subjected to hearing the same tune on loop like 100 times in 15 minutes! It’s a violation of passengers’ human rights!

UPDATE: It doesn’t work on iPhone or Safari on Mac. But works 👍🏽 on Google Chrome on Mac, and I’d assume on PC browsers. No idea about Android.
