You can’t treat LLMs like APIs. You call, you get back 200 and vibes. Today’s GPT-5 release is a perfect reminder that your code may not change, but the model’s behaviour can. Suddenly your summaries drop key details, your chatbot is literal to a fault, or your prompts stop.

Engineers seem to be over-engineering AI workflows before validating anything. Prompting everything, speccing everything like RFCs, looking for the perfect everything. Seriously, this is a fun time too. Just try stuff. Ship something. Then optimise.

Absolutely this. Juniors/Early career need to learn this skill ASAP. Whereas in the past no-one let them do a code review for a couple of years.
Vibe coding makes code review one of the most important skills of the modern software era. So it’s good that basically in every software company reviewing code is a well defined, well trained, high enablement activity, right? . It’s great that PR review isn’t some kind of.

IMHO AI tooling won’t replace engineers. It’ll demand more of them. Building secure, robust, scalable systems is still hard. If AI gives you 10% more output, great; use it to move faster, build smarter, and raise the bar. Don’t shrink your team. Shrink your excuses!.

Had just this conversation last night with a room of tech executives. Some were genuinely astounded that there are those (who they claim to want, top X, etc.) who do still have many options. If it’s someone you really want, make sure you do you all you can to entice them. Still.
Good candidates always have options. Even in a down market. Case in point:. I’m working on a Front End Developer role at a large bank with a colleague. Mid-Sr level. Onsite 3x/week. NYC metro area. We submit a strong candidate. She interviews once. Feedback is great. Then the.

Inspired by @clairevo I've had "You're absolutely right" from Claude Code 10x in the last hour alone. Finally we get "You're right, I need to debug this properly. Let me check what's actually happening". Still find CC excellent, but tonight definitely trying my patience!.

"You're absolutely right". I mean it's nice to hear that. But I kinda wish I wasn't so right and didn't need to make these corrections 🤣 Thanks Claude Code!.

Async systems will humble you. One minute you’re confident in your agent workflow. The next, you’re squinting at scattered logs wondering if the retry logic is working or if the agent just… gave up. You trace one event across three services, four queues, and a handful of “maybe.
