When you become an engineer in Canada, you take an oath To never cause harm/suffering/etc to humans as a result of your work This applies equally, if not more, to business Both can be used for good (to remove suffering) or evil (to add it) Do good work. Don't be evil

The only FAANG that seems to be worth working hard at is Meta My very smart friends who haul ass there are rewarded insanely well YMMV
feel like FAANG gigs today have barbell distribution you'll have a friend that works at a faang who is there grinding all night burning the midnight oil and you'll have another friend at the SAME EXACT faang who goes in at 10am for free bfast and logs off at 4pm to go to yoga

> frictionless Yup. Thatâs exactly what weâre after If itâs not you in the flow, itâs gotta go!
Back deploying a new project on @Railway after a few months of wrestling the Azure stack. I'm enjoying infra again. It's just so frictionless.

I believe every fortunate person will tell you this, but let me be the first: Every investment you will ever make, no matter how successful, will pale in comparison to the partners you keep Your life partner, your business partners, etc

Yesterday, for a couple hours, an issue occurred causing delays for <10% of users and dropped connections for <1% Any amount of customer impact is for us unacceptable We've published a retro + post mortem and put resolutions in place We take this all very, very seriously
We published an incident report for December 16, 2025: https://t.co/74wTX99BFF We're sorry for the impact this caused. We're actively working to eliminate the class of issues that contributed to this incident and to make the platform more resilient.

We have, once again, forgotten the merit of the dollar Revenue quality matters as much, if not more, than the revenue itself
Full essay here: https://t.co/D892Xh0LGo Thanks to @TheEthanDing, @JustJake, @mvernal and a few [redacted] unicorn founders for their thoughtful edits. I rarely ask this but if you have a friend evaluating a startup offer - I highly recommend you share this with them!

It very well might be easier to solve space cooling/energy problems than terrestrial/political problems Plan accordingly

Just so weâre clear, we like the Cloudflare folks I just think the consumer is going to get much, much better tools if you get great players pushing each other And where weâre going, we *need* those tools For me, you cannot put a price on that. This must exist.

Infra is fun because itâs tough to spot, you blink, and then itâs tough to beat
FWIW this is why - snowflake struggled to raise their series C - every tier1 passed on datadog seed/A/B - cloudflare could only raise from no-name VCs - wall street didn't understand AWS [until the numbers spoke for themselves]

Itâs so much easier to pull something back than it is to pull something forward (I do think there is massive friction in having two separate tools, but design and engineering *are* two distinct flavors)
