yup they keep the camera mostly still because the excitement comes from the very intentional choreography, framing, and cutting. this is why this random 80s Hong Kong action movie with 105 logs on letterboxd has better and more exciting fights than 99% of modern action movies
Keeping your camera still to properly frame action is not a bad thing. It can still feel dynamic, purposeful and tell the story behind the action.

This discourse is such a disaster, it's all "nobody is sexually fluid and choosing to date only women cannot affect your definitely innate sexuality at all" vs. "everyone is sexually fluid and you can choose whatever you want; this is definitely not conversion therapy rhetoric."
