This was scrapped because Raimi was concerned with how the mask could believably contour to Norman’s facial features and expressions; he didn’t know whether to explain the mask as being made from a lifelike material or a hybrid synthetic flesh. So they opted for the static mask.

Del Toro’s Frankenstein is just another in the trend of psychosexual monster movies made for women. The monster doesn’t deliberately kill, there’s no execution of Justine, and no scenes that might upset today’s feminized culture. He’s a hack. Branagh’s film was far more faithful.

I don’t think I’ve seen an adaptation of A Christmas Carol that wasn’t at least a little scary, but the 2009 Jim Carrey version takes it to a whole other level. Some of the jumpscares actually got me! Like Marley appearing as the doorknob?!?!
