At an event for reporters yesterday, MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle talked about how valuable Lahut’s coverage has been. “If you asked me who is Jake Lahut 9 months ago, I don’t know, a linebacker for the Buffalo Bills? Now the guy’s writing the smartest stuff,” Ruhle said.
Jake Lahut, a Wired reporter who from the Nancy Mace airport story last week, was among those fired. During the incident, CN's HR chief asked staff not to congregate outside his office. Lahut asked "what's your definition of congregating?" and was let go later that day.

One thing I saw this morning at Broadview ICE detention center was federal agents firing tear gas at a crowd that included 3 children. I talked to their mom, who confirmed they were present during the time of the attack, and they range in age from 3 to 6.

Totally, no one works more than 40 hours a week or gets merit based raises now
Never forget what unions took from us: - The right to work more than 40 hours a week - The right for children to have jobs - The right to receive higher pay in exchange for personal risk - Meritocratic workplaces And so much more

The details of the settlement aren't public yet. Extremely curious to see how much per infringed work, and how many authors are ultimately involved. Also curious if there will be pushback from the class a la Google Books
