Anyone out here using @MarketingCloud for emails? Our emails in the last month suddenly have word breaks when viewed in Outlook (words divided by a hyphen when too long instead of just going to the next line). I've tried all the break codes and cleaning the HTML... help!

Social media managers: consider pausing or rethinking your social media given the news in Nashville. People who manage social media folks: being on social can be difficult during tragedies; give your staff space to step away if they need it.

If you can't sustain your social media strategy, it doesn't matter if you're gaining lots of new followers or have great engagement. Make a plan that works for you. Don't burn yourself out.

3 months, 84 videos, and 480 hours of work by 8 staff members. That's what it took to test if doing short-form video on social media was a good fit for our nonprofit. If you've got questions, send them my way! Happy to share more about this experiment.
Is your nonprofit curious about doing video on social media? Like using a certain clock-named app? Before you do, read about our 3-month video experiment! @kmeyersemery, digital comms manager at Candid, shares what we learned and tips for your nonprofit.

Outlook: you have an unread email Me: cool, I'd like to read that Outlook: sure, but you've got to find it first Me: it's in the inbox right? Outlook: getting warmer... Me: is it pinned? Outlook: getting colder... Me: Just show me the darn email Outlook: freezing cold!

Yes to this! My 'strategy' doc for the year is basically bullet points of goals/objectives, content pillars, and content types to ensure consistency. It's also a living doc that will get reviewed and adjusted as we go.
A social media "strategy" doesn't need to be this elaborate thing. I think sometimes companies and biz owners want this fancy, overdrawn out "strategy" when really it's not that difficult. This who we wanna reach, this what we talk about, this what we gonna post.

If you're crafting a voice for your org's social media, consider selecting a group of fictional characters to give you focus It's a clear reference to determine if something is in voice or not, and makes training others easier. It also ensures your voice stays more human + real

Here's how I'm planning my nonprofit social media this year. 1. Focus on the platforms that give me the best results. 2. Stay consistent with a list of 5-8 topics that I will talk about (that align with org priorities). 3. Embrace repetition by creatively reusing content.

The glamorous life of a social media person. Outside in the freezing cold. Trying to get a photo of hot cocoa that looks pleasing because I need content that's holiday appropriate but doesn't relate to a specific holiday.

Our nonprofit just finished a 3-month experiment to see whether we wanted to invest in social video, resulting in 2x engagement on IG + U tube Hard costs were low-ish, $600 for Pixel 6 + $24 ring light. But production + planning was 30% of my job Will share details in January
