The greatest responsibility we have as scientists - is to share our knowledge. Share it with your neighbors, your children, your parents, your friends, with patients, with strangers. There is no greater loss than when new knowledge remains trapped in ivory towers.

Often times, siblings are deeply impacted by CHD. Daily routines altered, needs put on hold, for sake of another's health. Read one mom's letter to her heart healthy sons, thanking them for their unconditional love in an impossible situation. https://t.co/AZVNNdSryd

@Martin_Kneyber @AlvinSchadenbe1 @harrykchris @PICJournalWatch @PCICS2 @atscommunity @DWerho We have more @pc4quality data presented at @PCICS_Society 2018 meeting showing no benefit on postoperative LOS of a) OR vs. ICU early extubation (<6 hours) or b) early extubation vs. not. Bottom line: pulling the tube early probably doesn't = decreased LOS.

Nurses die differently (at least a little bit): greater hospice, less use of the ICU during terminal hospitalizations, and less use of life‐prolonging treatments (ventilators, dialysis, or feeding tubes). #HPAC #HPM #geriatrics

This. If we don’t take care of ourselves and each other in medicine, who will?
Ultimately, look out for each other. Check in regularly. Ask how people are REALLY doing. Have a low threshold to refer peers to psychologists. Slow down during the day, reflect on your emotions. And savor the feelings of appreciation from patients and families. #TipsForNewDocs
