This is exciting - the launch of a deeper conversation about policy in Australia. I wrote a piece for the first issue about a topic I have been thinking a lot about for a few years: How housing policy influences school equity. Check it out.

School equity is closely related to housing equity. Important discussion about exclusionary wealthy areas in Melbourne below. There are shrinking school populations in some of these high-income areas where everyone could benefit from more housing choices.

An underrated good Australian policy is the health star rating on kid snacks. The "nice & natural" branding not as convincing on a 2-star product. Contrast to the US where it was almost impossible to identify low-sugar kid foods by looking at the box on our last trip.
