Parking in bike lanes is illegal in Kirkland. Please don't park in our bike lanes. Never park in a bike lane, even if you’re just checking your phone. Blocked bike lanes create unsafe conditions for people riding bikes, forcing them into traffic. Bike lanes are travel lanes too!

We’re happy to share this video of a Chinook salmon in Juanita Creek near Edith Moulton Park! We polled our Surface Water team & found out that it’s been years since our staff has seen a Chinook in Juanita Creek, with the most recent documented sighting by Kirkland staff in 1999.

Checks are in the mail to 250 Kirkland small businesses that will each receive a $1000 grant from the Kirkland Small Business Relief Fund. The fund was created by the City, Banner Bank, and the @kirklandchamber . Seed funds were provided by @Google .org

Thank you to everyone who took our survey about the nightly closures on Park Lane! Based on your input, the City will continue closing Park Lane to vehicles nightly from 6 pm to 7 am through at least September so that you can enjoy socially distanced al fresco dining & shopping!

Captain Ivan Huld & FFs Robby Holmes, Shawn McDougall & Brett Christiansen continue to work to protect structures at the Caldor Fire near Lake Tahoe. The crew’s efforts are focused on strengthening firelines, containing hot spots, triaging structures, & establishing hoselays. 🔥

Overnight on Monday and Tuesday, the spans over Totem Lake Blvd were installed on the Totem Lake Connector Bridge. Our contractor finished this phase ahead of schedule and have canceled the planned closure of Totem Lake Blvd for the remainder of the week.
