Starting to realize that one of the reasons people are so easily gullible into immediately believing conspiracy theories is because they just don’t know how something works. Just because you don’t know how something works doesn’t mean that there’s some grand conspiracy

There are 815 American billionaires. That’s approx 0.0000027 % of the US population. Billionaires’ interests in no way line up with those of the rest of the 99.9+ % of Americans

I’ve met a lot of billionaires in my time. Many happened to be very nice friendly people. But almost all were frighteningly out of touch with things that most normal middle and working class Americans have to think about and deal with every day.

Well now I understand why even though I don’t follow @elonmusk , every time I open Twitter (ahem I mean X), I see a new tweet from Elon at or near the top of my feed. Literally every time.

We (Americans) would have greatly benefitted from mandatory media literacy classes in school.

It’s worth pointing out that in Aurora, CO, more people were killed (12) and injured (58) in a mass shooting (in 2012) by a white American man with multiple guns (including a semi-automatic rifle) than have been harmed there by Venezuelan immigrants or migrants.
