Interesting, the rescissions law list the cuts the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to be to their FY2026 and FY2027 budgets. All the other cuts are to FY2025 budgets.

Was the passage of OBBBA expeditious? Certainly – when compared to the past few presidencies. Only 165 days separated Trump’s second inauguration on January 20th and the signature into law of one of his major legislative priorities.

On July 4, Donald Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) into law, in a celebration complete with a military flyover and a ceremonial banging of the Speaker’s gavel. The president had...

Yay for federalism!. But what about the federally funded ed programs? Title I aid, ESL funds, etc. If these grants-in-aid programs stay, well, there will HAVE to be federal bureaucrats to administer them and who will have the authority to issue regulations.
🚨 SAY GOODBYE TO THE DOE. The time for education to be returned to the states has come. This unnecessary bureaucracy created in Carter Administration has meddled in the education of our kids for way too long. Local schools don't need Washington bureaucrats meddling in schools

RE: Senate FY2026 leg branch bill: "It would keep the GAO steady at $811.9 million for the coming fiscal year, unlike the bill backed by House Republican appropriators last month, which would slash funding for the nonpartisan watchdog nearly in half."
rollcall.com
Senate appropriators approved a fiscal 2026 Legislative Branch bill that would boost spending for Congress while avoiding cuts to the GAO.

The congressional capacity argument I make points to dysfunction being party a product of screwy processes, cockamamie internal organizational features, antiquated technologies, etc. BTW. The exclusive Capitol subway that keeps trapping US senators.

Riding the three-car train, which shuttles between the U.S. Capitol and two Senate office buildings, has become a gamble for senators, staffers, and reporters.
