ADHD is a lifelong neurodevelopmental diagnosis that is often misunderstood. Learn about ADHD from a psychologist diagnosed with ADHD.

@DrAmyPsyD So much!!!! Heterogeneity. Comorbidities. Masking!!! Exhaustion. Neurodivergence. NOT LAZY. NOT DUMB. Normal divergence of brain, but ableist world is what messes with us. Novelty! Urgency! Self-compassion is so needed. We are awesome 💕💕💕

The health disparities for people with #ADHD that are Black, fem-presenting, and many other historically marginalized identities needs to end. ADHD does not magically disappear when someone becomes an adult or if they weren’t diagnosed in childhood. Clinicians-educate yourselves!
Doctors/pyschs not "believing" in adult ADHD creates sexist and racist outcomes. Those that present as stereotypical ADHDers (white, male, hyperactive) are more likely to get diagnosed as kids and can access support in adulthood. Those of us who arent get left behind.

In tonight’s presidential debate the President said the “Portland Sheriff” supports him. As the Multnomah County Sheriff I have never supported Donald Trump and will never support him.

I keep thinking about my 3-year-old in his Black Panther costume. How he wore it almost every day when he got it, refused to take it off. The way he walked around saying “I’m the Black Panther.” How happy it made him. What Chadwick gave us was immeasurable. What an enormous loss.
