This week could be a critical juncture for Sudan. Urgent action is badly needed. Hopefully Trump’s statements lead to a higher-level, more effective effort to mediate b/t the regional powers involved, including Gulf states. This is an essential step for conflict de-escalation.
I applaud President Trump's call-to-action to end the war in Sudan - a level of engagement nonexistent under the Biden administration. He is right: Sudan's war is catastrophic, producing the worst humanitarian crisis in the world and horrifying atrocities, including genocide.
