Today, Canada recognises the State of Palestine.

Thank you @cafreeland for your friendship to our family, and your service to your riding and to Canada these last 12 years. And thank you for continuing your life’s work in defence of freedom and democracy in this next chapter.

She inspired us all with her courage, fierce intelligence, and conviction. For me, she renewed my faith in liberalism, and planted the seed that eventually led me to run in this election. Most importantly, Chrystia is one of the most generous souls I have met in politics.

Chrystia Freeland is one of the most transformative public leaders of my lifetime – defending Canada’s economy and our values during some of the toughest conflicts of the post Cold War era, and building the next version of the Canadian social safety net.

This is building Canada strong, with federal leadership and private sector capital. We have little time to lose if we're going to find new partners within Canada and outside the US. Today's announcement builds on our economic strengths and will bring jobs to our communities

We've responded to the needs of our communities. And this news will mean real and tangible benefits to workers and employers in Taiaiako’n–Parkdale–High Park, and across Canada. Because we are all in this together.
