One more great clip from Andrew Hamilton's talk about how to design the architecture for your MCP server and why it should exist as a standalone entity (i.e. separate from your API).

There are three ways to distribute MCP servers:. 1. Registries: When MCP servers started coming out, companies like @SmitheryDotAI and @glama_ai started building registries that make it easy for MCP enthusiasts to find and try out servers. 2. Docs and PR: The includes linking.

Rule #2 for building a great MCP server: Choose your audience. But why? MCP servers can (in theory) be used anywhere so I shouldn't have to decide who to build for!. First off, every MCP client (@cursor_ai, @windsurf_ai, @github Copilot, ChatGPT, etc) gets to choose whatever LLM

MCP Manager will become a common job title. Similar to how the AI boom created the new job of Prompt Engineer. The MCP Manager will be responsible for deciding what context is important to include in a company's MCP server and managing the experience to make sure product.

My co-founder wrote a blog last week about how MCP will be used to sell people more products. It's an interesting exploration of how the way products were bought and sold has evolved over the last few hundred thousand years. From bartering --> telemarketing --> cloud.

MCP servers can be discovered in 3 ways:. - Registries.- Marketing announcements.- Docs and platforms. I think the last one is the most interesting -- people discovering your MCP server directly through your documentation or platform. This discovery flow will become a standard

MCP is a distribution play. Hundreds of millions of people use AI every day. Whether that's ChatGPT, @windsurf_ai, Copilot, or something else. doesn't matter. Companies can and will find ways to sell their products to this massive user base.

I was setting up @QuickBooks the other day and copy-pasted a screenshot into ChatGPT to ask for help. ChatGPT answered my question and then said “would you like me to help you set up QuickBooks?”. I got excited for a minute, and said, “Yes, can you do it for me?” only to have it.

I'm the CEO of a startup that builds MCP servers for customers. People assume we saw the MCP hype and pivoted to the space. But the reality is we've been doing the same thing for the last year and half. We started off building VS code extensions, then added Copilot extensions,.
