Just spoken to the hospital - they got all of the tumour and clear margins. All of the lymph nodes were negative so I guess that means I am cancer free! 🎉 🎊 Radiotherapy to go but that’s a massive hurdle cleared 😀

Been to see the surgeon today - all good news, the MRI shows the chemo did it’s job and the tumour has shrunk by more than half. Surgery for a lumpectomy and node removal booked for next month and it should be a day case so I don’t even have to stay in 😊

Today marked the end of my visits to the oncology department as I was officially discharged! 🎉 They have been amazing but as my consultant said to me earlier, I hope I never see you again! Thank you

No bell this time, there are so many people for who the chemo does not mark the end of their fight 😞 For me I’ll have a bell to ring at the end if my radiotherapy in a couple of months and I will not be able to keep the huge smile off my face!

Tomorrow is the day I finally get my surgery. I’ve not said anything before as I watch the news through my fingers for fear of jinxing it. Cancer treatments are to be protected it was announced yesterday so🤞🏻it all goes off as planned.

For anyone trying to cope with muscle and nerve pain in their legs and feet from chemo, I cannot sing the praises of an electric throw enough. (The cats also love it 😉) I am not a saint, I also take loads of pain killers, but the blanket feels soooo good! 👍🏻

The phone rang this afternoon and I recognised the number as the hospital, my heart sank - I was convinced it was another surgery cancellation. It was in fact a confirmation that I’m on the list for tomorrow 🎉 🤞🏻

Today is radiotherapy day! I had the usual sleepless night where the little girl inside screams that she doesn’t want to go but with the sunrise the adult in me took over and I’m back at the hospital waiting to start the final step of this cancer journey.

My beautiful daughter presented me with this bag this morning to add to my hospital bag for tomorrow- creams, soaps, sweets, headphones and tissues are all very useful. I have no use for the hairbrush at the moment though 🤣👩🏻🦲 Love her to bits ❤️

Alfie has been fighting cancer since 2005 and has sadly relapsed a few times, but tomorrow he rings that end of treatment bell for the very FIRST time!
Alfie has gone through countless treatments and deserves to ring that bell!

Heard from the hospital today that I’ve got the go ahead for radiotherapy and my marking up appointment is next week. I am beyond pleased to be nearing the end of this particular journey 😀

Managed to get the children out of the house for a bike ride to the ice cream shop - exercise and gelato! 🍦 ☀️ 😃 Sporting my newly sprouted hair of course! (Had to make my bike helmet smaller without my old unruly mop!)

How are NHS workers still getting parking tickets in hospital car parks? There are no visitors allowed at hospitals so it’s only staff and patients parking. Why are parking wardens still working? Surely they should be at home like the rest of us.

This week I finally returned to full time work! We’ve welcomed back over 600 children to school and they (and we) are having a wonderful time. I even enjoyed the extended gate and playground duties 😊

I rescued this little cutie last Sunday. It was very poorly and would not have survived in the wild. 4 days at the vets and I’ve just picked him (or her!) up to release back out into the garden, all better! Good luck little Spike!

I rang the dr the day after we got back from Orlando to initially check out my lump. I was sat in her room 20 mins later (the NHS is amazing! 👏) and it has been a rollercoaster since. I’m working on some better coasters again after the all clear!
