Surprised to report that I, a self-professed em dash queen, only used 4 of them in my nearly 30-page thesis proposal

Very relieved to report that I passed my general exam! It’s been a challenging and exhausting 2 years — spending my first year doing zoom university from my bedroom, followed by 2 cruises in the span of 6 months — but I’m excited for what lies ahead research-wise

Thinking about all the times research advisors have told me, “Once you have the figures, the paper writes itself” while patiently waiting for my paper to write itself

WE DID IT: with a landslide margin of 1785–912, we are officially the MITGSU-UE!!! What started 4 years ago with a dozen students in an MIT classroom discussing the needs of graduate workers has culminated in this historic victory for student-workers at MIT. Now, we celebrate!

Not able to vote today in the @MITGradUnion election because MIT doesn’t think grad student fellows should be considered workers, but I’m standing in solidarity with my fellow students. Go vote! #YesMITGSU

It is insane that while MIT's endowment grew by over $9 BILLION in 2021, nearly 1 in 4 grad students struggle to keep up with cost of living. I say to MIT: invest in your students. I stand in solidarity with @MITGradUnion in their efforts to form a union.

Also I didn’t fully appreciate just how big the PQP is until we got back to port and I tried to take a picture of the whole ship…

Made it back to Toulon! It’s been a fruitful three-plus weeks at sea for #CALYPSO22, really looking forward to digging into all of the data we’ve collected

Well we made it to 60, but someone had the brilliant idea to write bottle depths in Roman numerals on this cast… I’ll just say that not all bottles were fired at the intended depths
50th cast of #CALYPSO2022 on the Pourquoi Pas! Making bets about whether we can hit 60 before heading back to port
