I had the absolute pleasure of taking Y9 to Valencia last week on a fully immersive trip. It was 4 hours of lessons per day and then cultural activities i.e local school intercambio, tapas tasting etc. Kids were thrilled to practise their Spanish with natives 🤩 #MFLtwitterati

When you have students discussing the complexities of conflict, love, or the universe in other subjects I find it patronising to both teachers and students how a list of words will sadly define the richness and beauty of languages.

- Mixed heritage backgrounds - The countries they visit on holiday - Religious festivals they celebrate - Representation of marginalised groups in reading activities - Gender neutral pronouns and adj. endings

A few things to consider that might make your SBs more inclusive. - Family structures - single, foster, adopted, same-sex parents - Hairstyles - Cultural dress - Foods from their home countries - Local problems - The languages they speak
