Couldn’t agree more!. We switched from “estimates” to “appetite” two years ago and haven’t looked back. . #shapeup.
We're extremely bad at estimation, and routinely overcommit and undeliver. This cannot be fixed, only worked around.

I wonder if this was just my experience though? Did anyone have teachers that gave you good techniques to deal with higher level text? . Being able to read books at higher levels requires a different set of skills and the best part is that it's totally teachable.

Were you taught reading in high school? . Growing up in Bangalore, English class was mostly about the teacher reading the text aloud and explaining parts that they felt were difficult to understand. They gave us almost no instruction on how we could become better readers!.
There are many ways to improve the K-12 reading crisis. Here's one of them: start literacy instruction earlier and continue it later. Read more on this strategy in Zinc's founder @MattBardin's op-ed in @hechingerreport #literacy #k12
