MLB has made proposal to Players. 75 percent Prorated salary. 76 game season. Playoff pool money. No draft pick compensation for signing player. Season finishes September 27th. Post season ends at end of October. Significant move towards players demands and effort to play more.
Comissioner Rob Manfred tells me “We are playing. The players need to be better, but I am not a quitter in general and there is no reason to quit now. We have had to be fluid, but it is manageable.”
60 games, full salary, expanded playoffs, playoff revenue for players. 70 days/60 games, small window for rainouts. Player safety priority. Regional games. Season ends late October, early Nov. Are we good? Wins and losses-thats baseball. Let’s play ball!!! We’ve missed you-a lot!
Wow. Jon Lester dealt with cancer and beat it. He pitched for two historic franchises and won World Series with both. His NVRQT acronym for his charity is so symbolic of his DNA and he walks on his own terms. Awesome. Congratulations to Jon Lester.
Vin Scully is the bar no one in our profession will ever reach. Graceful, eloquent. A storyteller with the ability to pilot passengers on an unforgettable journey without leaving the couch. He painted with words and each game was a masterpiece.
Look who I found at Citi Field.

and this is our time to shine for her. It’s now up to us to make a difference in Sarah’s life and the lives of thousand of others living with ALS.
If MLB has a view that is exclusive to them, that needs to be a part of the explanation for the call being upheld. I did not see one replay which showed Bohm’s foot/toe touch home. Appeared to pop right over the plate
Mookie Betts steals 2 bases and has a walk in same inning of World Series game-only one other player ever did that-Babe Ruth. Both after they were traded from Red Sox
Sources tell me MLB counter proposal today will move towards a season of roughly 70 plus games with a salary percentage on the 80-85 percent of pro rata. Playoff pool bonus. My concern are the recent spikes in COVID -19. Worst case would be to start and stop. Will players move?
I love the college football bowl season and conference play in College hoops but nothing beats baseball and it’s never too soon to think about what promises to be an amazing 2018 season. Major Leagues, College and Little League. I see you
This is Little League World Series week. One of the happiest weeks of the year for so many reasons. Everyone who loves the game of baseball and seeing boys and girls competing against the best players from across the globe, this is a sad void in our lives. Miss it all terribly.⚾️
Under agreement MLB Comissioner Manfred has power to suspend/cancel season if a team or teams suffer an outbreak and competitive integrity is compromised
It is becoming increasingly apparent that we may not have a Major League season in 2022. Both sides believe they have made significant concessions to the other-each side points at the other as having not done nearly enough. As has been reported, the word of the day is deadlock.
So grateful for all the great people; producers, editors, camera people, analysts, co-anchors, audio techs, IT (KBO miracle) executives, PR teammates, athletes and most important the viewers who let us in and let us stay!! Thank you.
⚾️Today marks

's 30th anniversary at ESPN. The voice of Baseball here, in addition to work on college basketball, SportsCenter, and more. Congratulations. What an indelible - and ongoing - legacy.
Mort was a giant baseball fan. We talked NFL and MLB often and his knowledge of each was spot on and deep. He was funny, warm and supremely gifted in his field. A trailblazer who earned everything.
At the Little League World Series the final play of every game is automatically reviewed. Major League Baseball should consider the same. And yes a check swing call-if the final-play should be reviewable.
Remember how I was so positive that we would be watching Major League Baseball this season. I heard and said 100 percent there would be games. I’m no longer living in the 100 percent world. Apparently even the most optimistic are no longer there either
It’s one of the best days of the entire year. Good luck and good health to every team. Hope to see you tonight at 7 for the defending World Series Champions and a new look White Sox team. Keep the ball away from the Beast.
Yankees were told the decision to postpone tonight’s game was based on abundance of caution. There was no indication given that any Phillies players had tested positive.
Here we go!
@Yankees
visit Citi Field for a MLB summer camp game against

. 7et on ESPN. What will it look like? Sound like? I can’t wait to see anyone and everyone in uniform on a field playing baseball. A monumental effort from all involved to get to this point. Play ball!!
Baseball thought for today. There is a come home comfort in knowing that everyday and night for the foreseeable future, baseball will be a part of our lives.
I will share a thought each day of the season and look forward to engaging with all baseball fans!!
A husband, father, friend and respected colleague. So, so sad. Pedro was able to laugh at himself and make others laugh. A story teller whose friendship was a gift. A great teammate. Thoughts to his wife and children. Just awful news.
The Phillies organization becomes a hugely important factor now in where things go from here. Test results on personnel likely will be known this evening. I believe other games scheduled for tonight will be played.
@HailStateBB
that was impressive! Defense! Pitching! Balls in play!! Total domination. Chris Lemonis and his staff are building a giant and now have a Natty! Congratulations to all. Dawgpile!
Opening Day. National holiday. Wall to wall baseball from now until a Champion is crowned. 7 months-longest roller coaster anywhere. Enjoy the ride!!!! Tonight on ESPN Cubs and Rangers 7:30 et
For this baseball fan, Opening Day is so familiar yet unique in what is promised and what is not. Joy, excitement, frustration, and disappointment. Better weather, ballparks glowing at night and imaginations ignited by a game resilient as redwoods. Familiar and unique. Play ball.
Immunity to players means no discipline but you punish by removing reward (Title) for cheating. We are so concerned about growing the game/next generation-kids have to know cheating is not a path to winning. I think we all agree Cheating and champions is an unacceptable message
20 years from McGwire-Sosa, Jeter’s Yankees sweeping the Padres and Kerry Woods 20k’s, today the Yankees have Judge and Stanton, Jeter runs the Marlins and the Cubs are serious Series contenders. Familiar and unique. See you all day on your home for Opening Day Baseball. ESPN.
Here we go!!!! Little League World Series returns after a years absence. It’s kids playing baseball, having fun and competing and it always brings a smile. Thinking we could all use some more smiles. Wall to wall starting at 1et. Games at 1,3,5 and 7pm et.
We are here. It’s a great day because pitchers and catchers are reporting. That makes it great. One day at a time. Today is a great day for baseball fans.
The Marlins story of 2020 is so unfathomable yet steering the ship on field and navigating the challenges off it Don Mattingly has been the perfect voice

birthday. A very special day for a very special person. This is A Langs Star. (ALS) On June 2 of this year, Lou Gehrig day, we all will be able to light a star for Sarah to help find a cure.
@MLB
@ProjectALSorg
. Stay tuned for details.Happy birthday bud!
Today is Lou Gehrig Day. We remember a baseball legend who was baseball’s Iron Man. On May 2, 1939 his consecutive games streak ended. Fifty four years later on On May 2, 1993 Sarah Langs was born. She will be celebrated and honored tonight at Citi Field.
While I believe the Astros title should be stripped, the immunity for players is the result of a negotiated agreement between MLB and the Players Association. Does the MLBPA bear responsibility in agreeing to the immunity and thus similar criticism from players with it?
The journey ends today at the Little League World Series. Congratulations to everyone who plays the game, coaches the game and manages the kids on the field and off. Thank you for making game better. Today we see the best this year has to offer. Louisiana and Curacao 3et ABC. ⚾️
Some owners biggest concern about Steve Cohen ownership would be exactly what they are waking up to today. He plays a different game because he can and way more important-he will.
Thank you baseball!! See you soon. Please
@MLB
@MLBPA
work together to agree on a new collective bargaining agreement and keep this game going. Congratulations on a fabulous season!
Sitting at LAX reflecting on an amazing year of Sunday night Baseball. Thank you to the players for allowing us to take the viewers into your world. Thank you to the teams and
@MLB
for helping to make it happen. The game has never been better.
I have heard from multiple
@MLB
managers that the pursuit of velocity-to throw a pitch as hard as possible as often as possible with as much spin as possible is going to lead to significant injuries, or worse. Quoting one, “we don’t pitch-we just throw.”
If every Major League team had an owner who wanted to win as badly as Peter Seidler, the game would be better. He obsessed about “slaying the dragon” to the North. (Dodgers) His impact on the team and city of San Diego is/was phenomenal.
It's really hard to describe how awesome the New Dude is - on a very pleasant afternoon in mid-February, this place is buzzing, the grills are humming out in the Lounge. Life is good here at

Thank you LSU head coach Paul Mainieri for the time and tour of one of College Baseball great cathedrals. 36 thousand showed up for opening 3 game set. In town for basketball but a stop at Alex Box is a must. See you in March with

Doubletree suites in Tallahassee has some of the nicest, most professional people i have come across. Thank you for making the stay such a nice experience.
Congratulations to my friend

on being named voice of Sunday baseball games on NBC/Peacock. Great broadcaster-great person. Just one game with Bill Walton, please.
Today is the day!! The 2018 Little League World Series begins. A signal that summer is rapidly coming to a close but not before another memorable, fun and exciting 11 days in baseball nirvana. Join us beginning at 1et on ESPN

A very special Memorial Day at Fenway Park. United with longtime friends and co-workers Chris Berman calling game on Red Sox radio, Keith Olbermann on ESPN radio and I have ESPN-TV. 80 years of ESPN experience/stories/ and other things.
Hey everyone, woke up this morning not feeling well and tested positive for Covid. Symptoms are minor. I look forward to being back with Eduardo and Coney a week from Sunday in St. Louis. My close friend Boog Sciambi will be in the booth this Sunday in Chicago. Thank you Boog.
Thanks to you-the great viewers Baseball Tonight Sunday night countdown ratings rose 15 percent last year.

are all back and very much looking forward to another great season. That’s all for now enjoy-the hoop.
Just thinking that Philadelphia is getting set to go on a run of championships similar to what Boston has enjoyed. Eagles-Sixers-with Butler addition-Phillies with tons of cash and Aaron Nola at top of rotation. It’s building boys and girls.
The way the Astros have created this current monster of a team is a blueprint many will attempt or are attempting to emulate with zero guarantee of similar results.
