I'll again repeat this, I've no interest in any social revolution or any movement.
My only limited interest is in peacefully practising medicine.
Read this again & again & again.
Old enough to remember 26/11, 7/11, UPA, & et. al
As long as I'm alive, 26/11 will always weigh in my mind when I vote. UPA's response post 26/11 will always ensure my vote doesn't go to INC or its allies.
Don't need lessons from newbies about India's democracy.
Coconut is freely available on the tree, Nariyalwala charges 30 Rs. for it.
Nariyalwala is looting, it has made nariyal tree into money-spinning business.

Thank you Dr. Tushar Shah Sir for saying this. 🙏🙏🙏
I'm tired of explaining this to my friends, relatives, & everyone.
I've also come across 2 cases of mucosal injury thanks to over-zealous steam inhalation.
An Ortho JR1 sent an ophthal reference to ENT opd because he thought ENT is eyes nose throat😂😂😂😂
Beat this😂
Any ortho resident who takes this personally, my advance apologies, but I really can't resist not posting this.🤣🤣
I'm mentally tired & fatigued with what's going on in my life. I don't seek an easy life, I've seen enough lows.
I've passed & seen it all. This, too, shall pass.
Need blessings. 🙏🏽
Unequivocal message to young medical aspirants:
If the current trend of this government continues, please look for options outside India.
There's no patriotism in practising modern medicine where the policymakers have no scientific temperament.
And also don't feel guilty for it.
We all know the axiom that hypomagnesemia causes refractory hypokalemia.
Let's understand the interplay between the two from molecular, cellular to clinical aspects.
Wishing that at the end of this thread, we have a better understanding of S. Magnesium

Breaking the family jinx:
My grandfather was LCPS(pre-independence MBBS equivalent degree). Didn't have money to pursue PG.
Dad is an MBBS, opted out of DGO.
Finally I'll be doing MD.
An unsolicited advice:
Don't take a drop unless your rank is way way below your expectations.
Don't be fooled by instagram & YouTube videos of PG teachers sharing 'inspiring stories of comeback'.
For every x comeback, there are 10x people in depression because of drops.

Being an exam invigilator for UG students is all about realising that literally every invigilator knows what's going around in the exam hall & he/she willfully ignores it. 😆
As India rolls out its BPaL Regime based on WHO guidelines, I will try to simplify it.
Basically, it's a shorter regime for MDR-TB, XDR-TB(26 weeks Vs. 18-24 months)

Unpopular Opinion:
Munnabhai MBBS was a bad movie. It gave an impression that having lame ideas like 'Muh se khilao, saline kyu dere ho'....'talking to a patient will awake him from coma' successfully work. It legitimised irrational thinking & demonised professional medicine.

Counselling process made anyone rethink their career choices?
It has been a soul crushing journey since last 6-7 months.
And believe me when I say that our Hon'ble SC Judges really don't understand the process, nor the implications of their judicial interventions.
After studying MBBS I've come to the conclusion that more than anything else, biostatistics should be emphasised more in our curriculum.
Statistics in general is counter-intuitive, & we're not wired to think statistically. But it affects our life in every aspect.
I've heard this, I don't know if it's true.
But there's something called 'welcome fracture' at some institutions for Orthopaedics JR1s.
It's considered a tradition to fracture a digit or some small other bone for the newly joined JR1.
And yes, I've heard about this for BJMC.
I gave 1st NEET-UG that was ever held in the year 2013.
I thank my stars that I was born early.
If rankings & marks are as they stand today, I would've had no chance to pursue MBBS. 16L people appeared, insane.
I hope docs don't become the new engineers, in the next 5-10 years.
Sushruta was the father of surgery so why can't modern day 'shalya chikitsat' perform surgery?
Analogy: I topped it my 4th STD, so why can't I get MD Medicine in KEM?
Paradigm of surgery has changed completely since the time of Sushruta, please look towards future & not past.
I think Trudeau just handed over 3rd term to PM Modi.
Whatever happened makes RAW look like Mossad.
Balakot gave Modi the last minute push for 2nd term.
Trudeau gifted him with 3rd term.
This issue will die down for some time & and then, around 2024 elections, it will be back in
To all the young interns who are suffering from NEET-PG FOMO:
PG coaches giving motivational stories have a commercial aspect to it(fair enough from their POV).
Don't let those 5-7 mins motivational videos kill the joy of learning. Don't let PG FOMO kill the intrinsic joy of

Personal Update:
After months of agony & pondering over it, I decided to do what some may call as being stupid.
I resigned from my MD(Anaesthesia) seat because the lack of patient interaction & love for ICU was too compulsive to ignore it.
Also, along with many other reasons,
Ours was the first All India NEET-UG exam in 2013.
If I tell my marks & score, today's student will not even allow me to enter the campus.
But back then, it was good enough to get a government seat.
Remembering the good old days when you could prepare for the NEET exam and predict your rank in advance.
I got 627 marks in NEET 2016 that were good enough for rank 105.
And you see the current times when the exam has been reduced to some video game.
A Surgeon in the OT, an Intensivist in the ICU, a Judge on the bench often suffer from God Complex.
I only wish when I become one, I don't become like those whom I dislike.
A friend in Ireland consulted a GP for 68€(Appx. Rs. 6000/-), I went through his GP notes, bhai Itna to hum phone par hi bata dete hai.
Indians living here need to know this.
Asking fees for a tele-consultation has been so difficult, teleconsultation to log free hi samazte hai.
Medical college hierarchy & culture create monsters out of decent human beings.
I wish people knew there was a better & a humane way of learning medicine than what PG culture in India makes us believe it to be.
No NMC guidelines will ever work.

Depression sucks.
But having to explain it to someone sucks more.
The sheer lack of initiative to do anything, it's like having hemiplegia without organically having it. It's like functional hemiplegia.
May God be kind to anyone going through this. 🙏🏽
Adar Poonawalla's frustration is representative of every doc here in India, let's admit it that at one point of time we all have felt, "Yaha, India me rehna hi nai hai.."
We may make fun of changing COVID protocols of our nation's premier institution AIIMS, but in my opinion that's where modern medicine stands out.
We're dynamic & ready to learn & adapt to the new data.
After dropping out of MD(Anaesthesia) & agonising over the upcoming counselling, I decided to do something different.
Joined IIT-Bombay for a research project on prediabetes with
@baxirahul
sir. I hope we get good publication/significant progress in our understanding of DM.
50 patients with No comorbidity, aged 30 to 40 years, COVID+, SpO2 > 95%, all of them had elaichi tea BD for 10 days. RT-PCR negative after 10 days.
Elaichi wali Chai is curative in COVID, with 100% recovery rate. 😎
(Any resemblance to 'some research' is purely intentional😎)
The mess created by NEET PG counselling has ensured that many people who were in dilemma about whether to quit India or not, they're clear now.
Thanks for the clarity.
PSM syllabus should include health insurance in detail, elementary healthcare economics(not planning which is already there), study of different healthcare models(NHS, US, etc.), medical history & its evolution. Our current PSM syllabus makes a lively subject more than boring.
TVF>>>>>>>>AIB
My consistent opinion over last 8 years, I've been vindicated time & again.
From Aspirants to Panchayat, TVF resonates with a growing aspirational India which these overentitled snobs never did.
Former AIIMS Director & COVID face of this country Dr. Randeep Guleria Sir is a pulmonologist.
Why are seniors of the fraternity silent on this?
All the Presidents of various societies and committees, where are they?
My father has been a practising GP for the last 45 years. Visit once & and see the number of patients & diverse patient base.
Also, see the number of subspecialist who visit on a daily basis for 'sir, please refer'.
GP practice is an art & social science.
I wish you knew better.
I find it funny when people go to US to study public health problems when we've Dharavi just within 1 km of 2 medical colleges.

Modi as PM of a coalition government is difficult to imagine.
He is a my way or highway person.
Interesting times ahead.
But one thing for sure is that caste, socialism, & freebies still drive electoral politics in India.
India story just got dented, no more decisive governance
I'm tired of hearing this:
Stay busy. Your psychiatric illness will go away.
And not just uneducated folks, it comes from close educated family members.
I really wish we had a better way of educating people on how to deal with anxiety-depression patients.
Thank you everyone who wished for my father.

Take the preparation process seriously, not its outcome.
Lot of 'celebrity doctors' hog the media limelight but the real stars are our medical college professors & HODs.
They are the real lighthouse of knowledge, ethics, & clinical skills.
Ofcourse, there'll be some black sheeps but by & large, med. college profs. are the real legends.
Govt & SC both fucked up.
There's no other way to say this.
Young docs are paying price for BJP's UP power lust.
And SC I believe just doesn't understand the gravity of the situation.

One of the best books I've ever read is HCV's Concepts of Physics.
No one ever clears JEE/NEET without that book.
Very well deserved Sir. 🙏
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Harish Chandra Verma for Science and Engineering. He is a physics educator and researcher, who is famous for his two-volume book "Concepts of Physics" which has revolutionised Physics education at school level.

Brace yourselves for strong AYUSH propaganda in the coming days. And brace yourself for hearing in 2024 that we doubled the number of doctors, especially surgeons from 2014 to 2024.
Brace yourself for 'Indian medicine renaissance' in coming next 5 years.
I've reached a stage where my health has become secondary.
All I care for is my ambitions.
Yes, it's unhealthy.
Yes, I'm a doctor & I know it.
But the environment created around us makes it a do or die battle for us in anything & everything.

2023 began with uncertainty after leaving MD(Anaesthesia)
Co-authored a textbook chapter with Dr. Prabhudesai Sir.
Worked at IIT-B on multiple projects.
Joined MD (Pulmonary Medicine)
Also, I found someone really special❤️
It ended with a health scare, but a good year.
I appeared for INICET while pursuing my MD Anaesthesia at Nagpur. That day & experience changed everything for me. Some moments really spark a rebellion within you, & I knew it that I wasn't meant for Anaesthesia.
For anyone struggling with life, keep faith. Life gives hints.
Good Morning :)
The physiology of today is the medicine of tomorrow.

For UG students, anyone who tells you exams are just to pass in MBBS is playing with your future.
Read books as much as you can, exam is a milestone & not the goal of studying medicine.
Congratulations to those who made it in NEETPG.
For those who didn't just read through this:
President Richard Nixon after resigning from his presidency:
I left MD(Anaesthesia). Now I got MD(Pulmonology) in Mumbai.
Worked with the legendary Pulmonologist Dr. Prabhudesai Sir.

sir.
Now got an opportunity to work with the legendary

Coronil is nothing but preying on the patients in the name nationalism. It's organised & legalised plunder.
General Observation:
As a society, Indians have pathological hatred for wealth-creators.
I've never understood why.
And it partly answers the question why we're poor as a country.
I don't think Dr. Guleria's 'One CT is equivalent to 300-400 X-Rays' was a slip of tongue, & I think it was deliberately said to discourage CT-Scans.
And it would be even more naive to assume that he doesn't know about CT & X-Ray equivalence.
Come on he's AIIMS Director!
Toxicity is an abused term.
A PG guide pointing out mistakes & asking to rework isn't toxicity.
A guide just throwing away the thesis without any explanation is toxicity.
Someone stopping you from participating or publishing is toxicity
Pushing them to do so isn't toxicity.
