Don’t want abortions but also won’t vote for contraception access to help reduce the need for abortions 🤔. But seriously, thank you to the members of the House who voted yes 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽.
OK, so not only do Republicans want to institute a federal ban on abortion, but today 195 of them voted against codifying the right to contraception. Only 8 voted yes. (Every Dem was a yes). This was not a “gotcha” bill with a bunch of stuff btw. It was pretty straightforward.

Another example of how people can manipulate the discretionary review process to stall progress. While our focus must necessarily be on the national election, let’s not forget to look for ways to improve California.
My latest: Why does supposedly environmentally conscious San Francisco allow one person to freeze the eco-friendly projects we desperately need? Slow Streets, special bus lanes and more are on hold because two people don’t like them. What a dumb process.
