Any truth in the posting I saw that this new LTN directly benefits Liz Atkins property (Liz is Labour councillor and Chair of scrutiny committee)..?

You don't say LTNs increased congestion, @TfL admits https://t.co/hJft09Ub1J

Extra bus lanes and low-traffic zones increased congestion for private cars, TfL says.

Lambeth 2025: A borough on the back foot – a year in review through the reporting of Buzz https://t.co/WmDw4BCOSf "Whether 2026 brings change or continuity, one thing is clear: Lambeth can no longer afford a status-quo Council that reacts late, listens little and leads even less"

We make no apology for returning to this excellent piece by @andrewellson in today's Times. It exemplifies all that is wrong with LTNs.

Is this the barmiest LTN yet? The detour required after the closure of a single road in Islington's new Mildmay LTN is set to result in: - More than a million extra miles being driven each year - 400,000 kg of extra CO2 being released Yet the council labelled it as "green" 🧵

The claim "LTNs reduce car use" was used by councils to justify concentrating traffic on community roads, generating hundreds of £millions in fines and increasing property prices on affluent high car ownership roads. TfL buried the study that showed this claim to be false. For

Sadiq Khan’s officials suppressed taxpayer-funded research that showed LTNs do not reduce car use TfL chose not to publish the study after it found the traffic relocation schemes helped increase cycling but failed to encourage people to use their cars less or walk more 🧵

A HUGE EXCLUSIVE from the Times, just put up on its website. TfL suppressed a report which showed LTNs don't cut car use. The Times has seen emails between TfL and Rachel Aldred's unit at Westminster University which did the study expressing concern about its results.

This is shocking. Bristol Council, its contractors and a large number of Police descended on Barton Hill at 3am to complete the LTN. Alerted, residents rose from their beds to try and resist, but largely in vain. https://t.co/uHpNtbDuur

Behind the cherry picked averages, the truth is that using Haringey's stated aims, and their own data, Bounds Green LTN has failed badly: - ⬇️Cycling down - ⬆️Air pollution up - ⬆️Serious collisions and casualties up - ⬆️Boundary Road traffic increase well above 'minimal' 🧵
As we move into the next chapter of Haringey's LTNs, Cllr @mikehakata highlights their positive impact. 🌳 The Bounds Green, St Ann's, and Bruce Grove West Green LTNs were given the green light to continue. Let's keep working together for a fairer, greener borough.
