I got "promoted"! Today was my last day in the workforce, and I'll now be raising my family full-time. I am unspeakably grateful to my husband @Micaheadowcroft for his tireless work and self-sacrifice to give me this opportunity to pursue my vocation in the home.

@JeremyTate41 I'm a classroom teacher. The homeschool transfers I get are either: 1) Multiple grade levels ahead 2) slightly behind in 1 or 2 subject areas 99% are ahead. The ones who are behind are slightly behind in math or spelling or reading. They catch up halfway through the 1st semester

No.1 wedding planning tip: hire babysitters! We had ~15 children under age two at our wedding, which meant that @Micaheadowcroft and I got to celebrate with MANY friends who wouldn't otherwise have been able to come. It was chaotic but joyful! #FamilyFriendlyWeddings

Pregnancy is beautiful and motherhood is empowering. I have to remind myself of this as I am constantly humiliated by the experience of being pregnant in a room full of 3rd graders who are "studying" me. One young man has even been recording the times of my trips to the restroom

@MrDanielBuck I've worn jeans to school 6 times: once, while taking my 1st graders on a field trip to a colonial farm; and then once a year for Field Day. My students wear uniforms as a sign of respect for their vocation as students. I dress professionally as a sign of my respect for them.

I teach 16 3rd graders. I never clean my classroom: my kids do it. I put a chart in the back of the room on the 1s day of school & I've reminded them 3 or 4 times. My room is clean, my kids take pride in the care of their space, & they have asked for more responsibility

Today my 3rdGraders sat for 42minutes quietly listening to all 12 movements of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons". They could name & recognize each movement by ear. When properly exercised and cultivated, this power of sustained attention is as natural to all children as running & jumping

@tsh Hand crafts: learn a skill. Crochet, woodworking, paper machete. Take it up a notch and learn to rewire a lamp or reupholster a chair.
