Thread of past books you might want to get your hands on!
first up is MOBILIS, MY LIFE WITH CAPTAIN NEMO. A massive book about two people in a submarine, trying to build a bond (and survive giant sea monsters) after the end of the world. Get it here
Jack Kirby put it best when he said super heroes ought to be a model of how to be better people, concentrating the best in all of us.
So f*ck off with your evil superman and fanboy hyperfocus on using power to kill and control. That’s the antithesis of the concept
So it’s out, we’ll be releasing a new
@DCOfficial
Black Label mini series about Robin called BOY WONDER, with me on story and art,
@ChrisOHalloran
on colors, and
@adityab
on letters! And you can even see the first variant from
@cliffchiang
!
@kabkhoudia
🚨🚨PREORDERS OPEN🚨🚨
My debut graphic novel DJELIYA is now available for preorder. It’s a fantasy adventure book with west African inspiration, cool action and designs!
My second variant cover for TMNT is out now, and I feel like flexing and reminding the world that I’d love to draw the turtles in an action packed story
And it’s a very fun and all ages oriented book. I want both kids and adults to get a sense of the fun adventuring of kid super heroes while reading a story that doesn’t assume that kids need to be talked down to. BTAS is a big influence in that way
So, in July I’ve got:
- my first graphic novel DJELIYA inspired by West African folk tales
- an issue of TRUTH AND JUSTICE for DC centered on Damian Wayne
- The first of 6 covers I made for the BOOM! Series DARK BLOOD
I did not intend to pack them all in one month 😂
I really like that DC keeps coming back to give me more stuff to do. My current schedule only allows for a few pages here and there and covers (I LOVE COVERS) but if publishers want in, shoot an email!
This argument that being critical of the MCU’s bland corporatism is because you can’t just be a kid again and enjoy the films. That argument is crap because I know what a great super hero movie that makes me feel like a kid looks like
Hi! I’m an illustrator and comic author who loves to draw fantasy things and cool pictures, covers especially!
My debut graphic novel DJELIYA based on west African lore is available here
Seen in previews: Hope it’s okay to flaunt before he does, but I’m basically using BOY WONDER as a way to get my favourite artists to do covers. The next one is
@ChrisSamnee
on issue 2!
Today is the official release day of my debut fantasy comic DJELIYA. Available at
@TKOpresents
or your local bookstore! Get yours and let me know what you thought!
Gather round, the Monkey Meat company has allowed me to introduce the upcoming anthology fantasy mini series MONKEY MEAT at
@ImageComics
due January 2022! PDFs of the stories are available with me for reviewers/podcasters who’d like a look. Now let’s discover the company!
I appreciate Del Toro so much because there’s zero irony in his films.
There’s a lot of genre stuff made now, but a lot of it feels overly serious or too jokey. His stuff feels earnest. It inspires me so much.
I want the MCUs ability to simply copy the elements of a genre, make a toothless copy of it, and be held as a game changer by the fans with every installment
My first graphic novel DJELIYA, a fantasy adventure story inspired by the lore of west Africa is open to preorder here:
To promote I decided to share some of the real life inspirations! I’m no historian so excuse possible mistakes.
Thread!👇🏾
My mini series MONKEY MEAT with
@ImageComics
and the Monkey Meat corporation has finally been made public, so it’s a good time to share the first piece of promo I made for it
Kid Cosmic is magnificent and any time allocated to this PPG reboot could be time spent watching it! If you like cartoons especially, like you liked PPG, you’ll love this
Because some have asked, I do not own any rights to Powerpuff Girls & have zero control over what happens with them. Additionally I have no involvement in the live action PPG series. If your looking for reality based superhero stories told by me, check out

I really want to take advantage of the fact that I seem to have some eyes on me to recommend the works of
@SBusuru
because he’s an incredibly talented artist and I think he deserves attention. His new comics Sanamu and Beast from Venus are on comixology so give them a look!
There‘s a real drive here to capture some adventurous fun as well as heartfelt humanity. The story of a kid who was hurt a lot, raised wrong, and who has to learn to navigate conflicting sets of expectations from both his families, with fear of not being good enough for either.
Idk dude. French readers been pirating manga and yet we’re the biggest western legal consumers of it. We made conventions just for it. It’s almost like easy free access on the web drove physical purchases up or something. Also this idea that “no money, no culture” is a bit sad
While it’s understandable, considering it’s Black Label, media platforms call BOY WONDER adults only, but tbh I was aiming more for 13 to 70. There is some cartoon blood and a rough kill which you can see in the preview (treated as the serious act it is), and this joke
At the beginning of my career I didn’t want to be typecast. I also wanted to play with a few things. Now that I’ve managed both goals, I’m gonna get back to the type of comics I wanna make the most. Gonna be a lot like these!
I can understand the sentiment behind this, but charlize theron has not toiled for years as the exact definition of "female-led action movie that isn't from marvel" for this kind of disrespect!

I make fun of MCU Stan’s fighting over which character is the most powerful, as if that metric supersedes quality of writing or their attributes as a person, but really I’m scared by that tendency to use power as the metric of value for a character. I’m scared of those who do it
