Abdu Katutu on Capital Gang quickly debunks Fred Bamwine's argument blaming all the chaos on boda bodas & street vendors. He argues, we have all including judges, MPs Ministers contributed to this mess. We drive & park on pedestrian trails, litter irresponsibly etc., spot on!๐Ÿค

I believe urban management is not about removing people, it's about organizing productivity because cities grow and planning must evolve. Street vendors are not chaos but microenterprises feeding the city daily. Now, the question isn't "how do we clear them?"

Our ED @NabbosaSophia opines on the recent directive to evict street vendors.

Street vendors are not illegal by choice, we are excluded by design. The repeated directives to evict street vendors evictions without consultation, inclusion and equitable access to public workspaces only deepens poverty and instability especially in the city and across.

Evictions without equitable inclusion for street vending activities isn't urban management, it indicates policy failure. Street vendors are workers not obstacles and to decongest a city, doesn't require destroying livelihoods

Uganda must activate the Contingencies Fund (Article 157) and insure all Ugandans against climate change. @IraUganda Uganda must also set up the Disaster Preparedness and Management Commission (Article 249). The money, sorry, the floods are coming!

Experts say Uganda's informal economy, which employs nearly 78% of the workforce, can drive green and inclusive growth if formalization efforts prioritize sustainability over paperwork and taxes. #NBSLiveAt9 #NBSUpdates
