Glad that folks are finally talking about this! Preservation of mobility seems to be the real key, and what I explain to my patients. No point in losing your ability to walk while trying to heal a hail mary foot salvage.
Functional limb preservation should be our collective goal. The inability to ambulate and be mobile leads to an early death. @limbsalvagedr gets it 👊🏾👍🏾.

Surgically interesting thread.
This one is a bit hard on the heart, so trigger warning I guess. Bit of an odd day. Our ranch hand was checking fences and found our resident bull elk down by the creek, unable to rise. He’s been living here for a couple months with a small group of ladies, and seemed content.
