As I said in my follow up video to this morning's post. Winning, masks and papers over cracks in the foundation. When the winning stops those cracks are stressed. They've been there all along...

@jshector All of these nonsense started after El Clásico. Once club didnt take action against Vini's tantrum, he assumed he is in charge and can do whatever he wants including get the coach fired.

More thoughts on Real Madrid and the club's current situation. There is so much going on at this club, and all the pieces matter.

Some big picture thoughts about Real Madrid following their third straight poor performance. It is human nature to try and identify a single issue, scapegoat or reason whenever a situation is poor and results are suboptimal. But, as always, the issues and reasons are nuanced.

Remember that Real Madrid’s leadership was debating who would publicly sack Zidane after appointing him in 2016, and then let the media go after him during the injury crisis in 2020/21. Not sure they have coaching evaluation down like players, they treat coaches like toys.

@jshector Good take Jarod as always. A big fan of the real deal podcast. Except the things your account admin posts about Vini isn’t mature and fuels this nonsense narrative that if Vini leaves we are all of a sudden perfect. We were poor with him on the bench last night.

@jshector Games we have drawn or lost this season been away games. Against teams that press, play high octane and attack us, we tend to suffer. Yesterday was different though. Defense was all over the place, midfield was fragile. Entire back line was atrocious.

@jshector @RealDealPodz I’m sick and tired of Vini fighting with Xabi. Vini is not important enough to demand what he is doing. Sell him, Rodrygo, brahim. Bring Paz, Chema home, start betting on our academy like Pitarch, Cestero, Joan, Diego Aguado and so on. Play Mbappe on the left and play GG FFS

Fascinating outlook. I guess the root issue remains to be the profiles and how they fit with each other. Square pegs in a round hole situation. Either Xabi changes the tactical approach for the team to a more counter attacking based scheme or bigger players need to be dropped.

Fairytales that exploit people who don’t know both sports well 😭. Warriors offense was based off Jordan’s Bulls x Popovich’s Spurs, but with Steph Curry. There are inspirations, but this is bait. @jshector was there when it all started. Will break done one day @RealDealPodz

The philosophy of the Warriors’ offense began with FC Barcelona’s Tiki-Taka principles. @StephenCurry30 explains how Steve Kerr introduced the concept on Part 1 of his guest appearance, out now: https://t.co/HdIN9eJzNE

Jude and Camavinga seem superior physically and technically in the middle of the park than what Rayo can offer in resistance. Can’t we take advantage of that more?

Jude Bellingham’s receptive and out of press abilities are simply not maximised— yet. Three instances where he bypassed M2M press shielding the ball and creating vertical lanes for Madrid: two of those led to threats where Madrid could enter dangerous zones. More of Jude, Xabi.

They got Madrid and Vini derangement syndrome. Madrid and Vini have nothing to do with this match

How is this a normal behaviour? These teams genuinely do need help with their Vinícius Jr. obsession. Fans, Coaches, Players and even directors going for a footballer that has done absolutely nothing outside of playing football?

Bringing this thread I posted yesterday back up. If you listen to @RealDealPodz - and you should be if you're a Madridista - I talk often about how the team responds to adversity. The Tchouameni injury is the latest. These are all points along the growth & development curve

Some thoughts on yesterday’s match vs. Liverpool: So far in the Xabi Alonso era, it was the first time the starting XI could be predicted fairly easily. Seemed to me that Slot knew this would be the XI and game planned accordingly. There were poor performances by many players

As the season and year's progress Alonso, the players, and the club will need to improve, adapt, iterate and learn from failures to increase probability for success.

Ultimately, it all may not come together in time to win in Europe at the end of the season. And as a Madridista that is hard to take, because winning Europe is what this club's history, DNA and legacy is built on. But the underlying process seems correct and is trending up

Guler, Huijsen, Camavinga, Carreras are all 22 and younger. All vital to what Alonso is trying to implement and nowhere near complete development. So at times it will look bad. I think patience is needed here.
