Brian made everyone around him better - honored to visit his grave this weekend.
Brian Daniel Hornsby CW3 Hornsby was from Mel Bourne, FL. He was 37 when he died in Afghanistan on Aug. 16, 2012 while serving in the U.S. Army with Company A, 2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, Wheeler Army Airfield, HI.

It stands for all that IS and CAN BE good, in our country. A flag that reminds us we still strive for a more perfect Union. The fact this Union can strive to change when needed is the best thing about us. Up goes the flag given to me at retirement - Happy Birthday America!

It’s seen heroes save others, heroes start their long journey home. It’s seen the Hindu Kush, Helmand, and Honolulu. It’s seen me thru 20 years of a 25 year military career. We don’t need thin line flags to symbolize honor or virtue because we have this one. 2/

My first 4th of July in retirement marks this flag’s retirement as well. Bought it in 2003 before deploying to Iraq and took it with me been on every helicopter flight, every deployment, and every exercise since. It flew in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. 1/
