I've spent these months since Nat's death trying to understand where we are and what the future might look like. I'm not sure how far I have got. Something which has been clear is that I want to do something positive inspired by Nat. #grief #cancer .

Schools are often local hubs of #interfaith and #communitycohesion best practice. If you know any #London schools doing amazing work in this way there are only a few days left to nominate them for this prestigious award! #TeamRE @culhamstgabriel.

Being part of the #ParentingwithCancer project was such a positive experience, and for my eldest be given the opportunity to talk about his mum in front of supportive professionals (plus his brother and grandparents) meant the world. #gratitude.#bereavement.#parenting.
Session 5 of the conference focused on Parenting in Palliative Care, and session 6 looked at new practices that support parents and can easily be embedded in cancer care. @js_cass @semple_cherith @MuddledDaddy @StJoHospice @ApartOfMeApp @RuthStraussFdn @BreastCancerNow

Combining an #Equalities role within #DfE with an #FCDO role is interesting, particularly for #FoRB. Suggests that there will be a greater engagement with #FoRB as a Human Rights priority domestically as well as internationally which would represent a departure from previous govt.
Anneliese Dodds MP @AnnelieseDodds has been appointed Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office @FCDOGovUK. She has also been appointed Minister for Women and Equalities in the Department for Education @educationgovuk. She will attend Cabinet.

Such an important conversation. but I cannot be alone in being concerned about the declining diversity of voices in this space? Where is the Jewish, Hindu, Sikh representation? @BoardofDeputies @IFNetUK.
The @UKLabour approach to religious groups has been "profoundly altered" in recent years, says @stephenctimms, and the party has observed how religious groups responded with ‘resilience and compassion’ in situations like the pandemic. #GeneralElection2024.

So much here resonates. The authentic support from all #hospice staff, the treats from the chef which Nat appreciated and the boys got to share and enjoy, the daily trips to see her taking with me her favourite foods (bread pudding from Parkways). #grief #ParentingWithCancer.
"The hospice is both a waiting room and an endpoint. In such a context, you can discover there’s little in this world that passes time better than eating.". Today's newsletter by Robin Craig is an account of appetite at the end of his father's life.
