Well almost all the individuals I follow have moved to bluer skies or given up the ghost. Sad to see the dystopian and toxic landscape Twitter has become. Time to hibernate in the hopes of a spring after the long fallout winter.

When George Ellery Hale climbed Mount Wilson, a nearly 6,000-foot peak rising high above Pasadena, in 1903, he had a vision for building a new and bigger window to the cosmos. We hope this window remains open for many more years of discovery.
As you may have seen on the news, the Eaton fire is approaching Mount Wilson. There are firefighters on the grounds but the power is out at the Observatory so communication is limited. We are monitoring the situation and will update here as we can. Thank you for your concern.

Itâs a bit disappointing to see so many centre right parties just completely lose their grip on reality.

Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come. âRespairâ, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair. Hereâs to a few drops of respair in 2025.

âMy wife complains that open office will never print on Tuesdaysâ A bizarre sentence; which kicked off one of the most interesting bug hunts in Ubuntuâs history. It all starts with some goofy pattern matching.

The first air crash investigation on another world has concluded that the crash of the Ingenuity helicopter on Mars was caused by the inability of the navigation system to track the relatively featureless terrain. This resulted in a touchdown with too much lateral velocity,

Are there grants in the UK for mid-career sabbaticals targeted at âyou could do good things, but your life got nuked by acts of man or godsâ type circumstances? That seems like a thing that should exist.
