If the Senate determined that it was not midnight, it was the business of the Senate, and not of the presiding officer.

The goal is to drag this out past midnight tonight so that the “intervening day” is pushed back, thereby delaying nom votes by a full day

In January West Virginia will have 4 different governors in 10 days! On Jan 3 Gov Jim Justice (R) will leave office to be worn in as a US Senator. Current LG/Senate President Craig Blair (R), who lost re-election, will be governor from Jan 3-8. The winner of GOP caucus race

I'll be honest: if you'd told me that Harris was going to lose all 7 swing states, no way I'd have believed that Dems would have held the Senate seats in at least 4 of the 5 of those states that had Senate elections.
