Absolutely epic trip with so far with @gregor_suttie here in Canada exploring the Vancouver region. Heading into the city tonight for some good food and then back to Washington and Olympic National Park. Really delighted to be able to call the Pacific NW home now! #mvpsummit

Continuing the ice cream tradition at the #mvpsummit. Seems like a highlight for my fellow MVPs here visiting all the way from the UK (Northern Ireland, Scotland, England) and New Zealand. My only disappointment was I only made two trips 𤣠#mvpbuzz #cloudfamily
Well thatās a wrap for an incredible #mvpsummit! Fantastic work by @MVPAward, product teams, and volunteers at Microsoft and so many new & exciting things now swirling around in my brain. And wow did I ever need this, I really treasure connecting with my fellow MVPs! #mvpbuzz

Wow, I had no idea this was a thing. Suspect it flew under a lot of radars. Talked to a friend for small self funded startup in Raleigh. Heās getting laid off after the new year because of this. Wonder what the net impact of this will be on an industry already in recovery mode.
A thing that is causing huge pain at many tech companies in the US - with little talk about it: An IRS tax code change in Section 174. This change eliminates the ability for businesses to deduct R&D as an expense. Hear of lots of layoffs directly because of this, as a start.

This is where you sit for the #MSIgnite keynote when you get stuck in 2 hours of traffic on I5. I like being a local but I may have to leave a bit earlier tomorrow morning š¤¦āāļø . I think @satyanadella is about 2mm tall š. Great venue though - feels like Ignite is back š

Wow this brings back some memories. Classic ASP and vbscript was my jam circa 1996ish - anyone for some CreateObject calls and some good old MTS components? RIP VBscript - you never got the love you deserved lol
The end of an era; Microsoft is deprecating VBScript. I was a VBScript ninja back in the day going so far as building classesā¦ā¦.in VBScript!

Iāve been quite for a while. Lots of life changes in the last few months that also cumulated in a move out to Washington State. The family is enjoying the summer weather and sunsets like these a few blocks from my house helps make the huge new house todo list bearable!

Absolutely fantastic to see the @daprdev momentum. At KubeCon I spoke to so many Dapr users, old and new, and definitely saw a correlation with the latest CNCF project survey that put Dapr at 10% of all production workloads.
Dapr in the last 30 days𤯠š„Featured on @InfoQ Software Architecture Trends; š„Listed in @KubeCon_ most contributed projects; š„Appeared on @ghohpe' post about abstractions; š„Debuted on @thoughtworks tech radar to Assess; ...and the month is not over yet!

Tomorrow (Thursday) 9am PST/6pm central EU weāll be doing a webinar with @mipsytipsy about vendor costs. In a world where as devs we use vendors everywhere (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) what are sensible ways to think about cost? Weāll both give our candid takes. https://t.co/rzHY3a3Mza
honeycomb.io
In this session, Charity Majors and Gergely Orosz provide advice on how to think through cutting costs in a vendor-dependent world.
I don't usually get this excited about webinars, but tomorrow @GergelyOrosz and I are doing one on how to control your infinitely-growing vendor spend, and...you're gonna want to be there. https://t.co/zGmuspHebK
