5/6 But we're a long way from home and it's time to go, so we pack up our kids and our stuff as the young man plays on. He finishes a song and I thank him for it and for the rest and tell him my son says he's a rock star...

4/6 My wife starts to sing along softly, harmonizing a bit with that smoky voice of hers until our daughter asks her to stop because she's listening. And it's a perfect, precious, beautiful moment and it's ours, and now a little bit yours, too....

2/6 Pulled off the Blue Ridge Parkway about a week ago to have a little picnic and give my 3 and 6 year olds their first good look at a mountain vista. Couple minutes later, this kid parks his car next to ours, pulls out a red guitar, and starts to sing and play some covers...
