If you’re not measuring the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) when comparing vendors & solutions, you’re likely coming to the wrong conclusion. Recently @E2EEA_GLOBAL did a TCO where one option had a CAPEX 3x lower but a TCO ~25% higher over 5 years. And the kicker, the lower TCO.

The one of the hardest parts of earning the #VCDX cert was the requirement for extremely detailed documentation for the architecture, operational guide, testing plan & installation. It made me better though. #patience #techskills #LearnAndGrow.

Great example from Keith. Business continuity is key, and resiliency is often ignored in favour of maximising usable capacity such as storage. Vendors often lack the expert architecture guidance to make product/feature decisions which actually deliver business outcomes as.
A CTO told me last week:. “I’m perfectly fine with 30% data center utilization—as long as the systems are resilient.”. Meanwhile, vendors are still pitching 80%+ server utilization and hyperscale efficiency as the main selling points. Here’s the disconnect:. The CTO doesn’t care.
