Will Noel was a groundbreaking scholar who worked tirelessly to make the medieval world matter, to opening up the (historically) restrictive space of manuscripts to open access, and a kind and generous human being. I will miss him terribly.
We are extremely saddened to hear that Will Noel passed away yesterday. He was a pioneer in the field of digital manuscript studies, a relentless advocate of open access, friend and colleague to many in the DM community. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family.
