Just pinning this tweet so when the family separation and internment techniques are used on US families after major cities start becoming permanently broken by climate disasters, they can't say "nobody saw this coming."

The audio for that night will be released soon. Longtime friends of mine will not be surprised to hear me mutter during my statement "Well, this has turned into one of my usual shitty pep talks."

I just realized, for our WGA friends, that voting is now open for the Board of Directors. Which is something I probably should have been on top of as I was at Candidate Night last night. Check out the excellent candidates and their policy statements here:

I will ride this tide of positive vibes about electoralism to remind all my fellow WGA members that the candidate pages for the 2024 election can be found here, and my God, what a selection of killers.

For those who don't wish to endorse me, that's fair! It's a fantastic slate of candidates this year. For links to all of them, for either WGA members or just the WGA curious, go here.

Back at the hellsite? Well, just for a moment -- the WGA Board of Directors election is coming up, and as not all the WGA folks have moved to Threads or Bluesky, I wanted to leave a link to my candidate page if you're so inclined. https://t.co/RRzPQy8g5l

For the pro-monopoly crowd that absolutely dominated antitrust law from the Carter administration until 2020, Amazon presents a genuinely puzzling paradox: the company's monopoly power was *never* supposed to emerge, and if it did, it should have crumbled immediately. 1/

Here's the thing about con and heist stories. They can be serious, ironic, comedic, post-modern, supernatural, mundane. As we discussed last time, cons and...

Just peer-reviewed a forensic analysis in a case. The suspect mailed a package with a hidden Apple AirTag in it to a victim's old home address. The package was forwarded to her new (and formerly safe) address.... Might be good to warn DV victims of unexpected mail.

The number of messages I have gotten from cisgender people who read Pamela Paul's article and were nearly swayed until reading mine easily debunking it is unreal. I am glad I am able to fight back. But I do NOT have the reach that the New York Times has to offer.
1. The New York Times has published a 4,500 word opinion piece by Pamela Paul targeting transgender care. It is filled with inaccuracies, faulty citations, and factually incorrect claims. Lets dive in. Subscribe to support my work.

The brains behind Trump's stolen #SupremeCourt have detailed plans: they didn't just scheme to pack the court with judges who weren't qualified for - or entitled to - a SCOTUS life-tenure, they also set up a series of cases for that radical court to hear. 1/

Mississippi has approved bills to give Amazon a 10-year, 100% corporate tax exemption, plus 30 years of state tax exemptions. Lawmakers also set aside $44 million to help fund Amazon's latest project in the state. Mississippi has the highest poverty rate in America.

30 years into my professional writing career I took MRK's short story class and found it very, very useful. I'll absolutely be back this year for a few of these. Take a look!

Congratulations to both Dr. Taber and the state of North Carolina for this opportunity to have her serve.
Announcement time! First, with filing closed, I'm now North Carolina's official Democratic nominee for Commissioner of Agriculture. I'm excited to bring rural issues to Raleigh, and to help with rural voter outreach in this key battleground state for 2024.

I've been following and reporting on Patrick Byrne for years and none of this is surprising. He is a spoiled trust fund baby who is an idiot who thinks he's smart. He's rotten human and a criminal who only hasn't been arrested because he's rich.

Claiming that immigrants are "poisoning the blood of the country" is the literal language of Hitler's Mein Kampf. Trump and his allies are openly embracing fascism, and it's time for the media to stop being scared to use that word.
Trump: They’re poisoning the blood of country.. They poison mental institutions and prisons all over the world not just in South America… but all over the world they’re coming into our country from Africa, from Asia
