I'm headed back to the the Recurse Center! Recurse is like a writers retreat for programming. Last time I entered making boring normal games and left doing things like embedding Flappy Bird inside MacOS finder It's totally free. consider applying (and come hang out w/ me)!

Let's Dance! A quick sketch with @p5xjs and the Gemini API The prompt starts like so... "We are both dancers, I'm the 🟦 puck and you're the 🟥. We are trying to convey mutual love and respect in our dance..." I really like the third turn at the end, sort of sweet

... and now, a word from our take over-er, aka me aka Greg: what is the Recurse Center..? it is the most inspiring place I’ve ever attended. it has every single best trait from hackathons, meetups, conferences, maker labs, hacker spaces, r&d labs, art studios and writer’s room.

folks at the @recursecenter wanted to create virtual machines to play around, so we bought a $200 computer and installed proxmox on it and wrote a bunch of glue for it today, it's glorious. you can start/stop/run hundreds of VMs for free.

In many ways, the market for founding engineers is like a parallel universe to the broader tech jobs market, which is the worst we've seen in 20 years. Startups are eager for qualified candidates, make offers quickly, and competition for candidates is fierce.

Getting going and building gets you most of the way to something great. Edison wasn't wrong when he pointed out that most things are 99 percent perspiration!

You can build something great Everyone who’s ever done something great has at least two things in common: they started, and they didn’t quit when things got hard. This goes for any kind of work, including programming. 1/2

The Momobox is a DIY MP3 player for a toddler! It’s made with a Raspberry Pi and 3D printed components, and runs on CircuitPython. Blair is building it for his daughter, with special Momies — figurines that play different songs when you put them on the box with a magnet.
