It could’ve been easy to chase results by having them sprint. But we know they’re getting ample that at practice. Had to explain minimal effective dose to an athlete yesterday after they PRd their 5-10 FLY by 0.03+ (3% improvement). Less is more. Strategic loading.

Lots of times we get track ATHs who come in feeling sore / tired. Our strategy is to flush their body with warmup & mobility work. Then we add high force, low impact exercises like this to keep them primed or even potentiated for their next meet.

One of the most overlooked ways to run faster is the run specific isometric. 🔥. This exercise gets its value from the large amount of force applied by the muscles & tendons + the high neural drive demands. Great for in-season track & field athletes to maintain power.

First athlete plays both WR/DB at a small school. Still learning the DB position. Possesses incredible twitch, vertical, & speed. Runs a 1.180 5-10 FLY for context.
